I thought so. I mean that there is disagreement among the various Orthodox churches. The mentioned ‘unsettled conflict’ seems to somehow support that thought. However, listening to apologetic among Orthodox, I have the impression that there is no such disagreement. :coffeeread:

Most problems come from Constantinople’s Patriarchate which is in state of paranoia, being afraid of losing it’s primacy. Constantinople was given primacy because Constantinople was New Rome, and because emperor reside there, but there is no more emperor and there is no more New Rome. But i honestly believe no Patriarchate desires to take that honor title from Constantinople, even Moscow is not interested. Moscow is interested only in healing schism in Ukraine and keeping jurisdiction over former Soviet Union area. Moscow Patriarchate cherishes great love for all ancient Eastern Patriarchates, most monasteries in the Middle East and Egypt were saved in 19th century thanks to the huge donations from the Russian Church and the emperor.

Second practical problem is struggle between Antioch and Jerusalem Patriarchates for jurisdiction over Qatar.

Third problem is, Constantinople insists Council to be held in Turkey, but with the downing of Russian airplane by Turkey, Moscow Patriarch is not willing to go to Turkey.

There are great chances for Council to take place in Thesaloniki, it is Constantinople’s jurisdiction, and it is not in Turkey, but in Greece.
