S prazdnikom!

It was pouring rain for the Vespers last night but glorious weather today for the Feast!

I was at the Annunciation Cathedral in SF last night, mentioned here so won’t repeat that story, LOL (tho I’d love to repeat the feast they fed us!)

I try to stay off the internet on Sundays but I’m so elated from the Feast I just have to share one of my very favorite annunciations of the Annunciation Archangelski Glas/With the Voice of the Archangel (Megalynarion of the Annunciation, Tone 5) Znamenny Chant
It’s a beautiful chant, sung so beautifully, first in Salvonic, repeated in English, by dear Fr Stephan and I love that it tells us that when we sing this proclamation we are singing together with the Archangel. 👍

I hope you all have had a very blest Feast day. Cavaradossi mentioned in a PM that it is also the altar feast day for his parish. S prazdnikom! Chronia polla! (Is that right for Greek greeting on the Feast?)

Troparion: Feast of the Annunciation of our Most-holy Lady, Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary
Today is the beginning of our salvation,
the revelation of the eternal mystery!
The Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin
as Gabriel announces the coming of Grace.
Together with him let us cry to the Theotokos:
“Rejoice, O Full of Grace, the Lord is with you!”

I’m sad to say that my family wasn’t able to make it to Liturgy for the Feast. My two children and I are sick. 😦 But one of our deacons was kind enough to bring Communion to us. 👍

Happy feast day, everyone!!!

Ironically, I was an evacuee due to a wildfire on the Solemnity and just now am able to read the posts from that day. It is bittersweet to see the devotion (of those on this thread) to the Annunciation and to realize that that same devotion is not voiced elsewhere on this board. It is my fervent prayer that a fire be lighted in the souls of all Catholics for the Solemnity, so that on future Annunciations we may feel a great excitement for the opportunity to greet Our Savior as He comes to save us and for the opportunity to offer our thanks to Him and to His holy Mother for saying “Yes” to the Father so that we might be able to spend eternity with them in Heaven.
