Hello everyone,
I am looking to join a church. I am not sure whether to join a protestant or catholic church. I have read the Bible off and on for years just out of curiosity.
One thing that really disturbs me about both the Catholic and Protestant religion is that they both seem to go along with the idea that the Sabbath is on Sunday. I have read that Constantine (??) and early Pope changed the Sabbath from Saturday (which was the seventh day in which the Creator rested) to Sunday (which was the first day of the week and the day that Roman pagans worshipped the Sun God, “Apollo”).
Since the Fourth Commandment given to Moses states that the Sabbath should be remembered and kept holy and even later I read that the Sabbath is God’s covenant with His children.
Isn’t changing the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday kind of a slap in God’s face? I have never heard a decent explanation on this matter from either a Catholic or a Protestant. This is the reason I have never joined a church…every church I have come across contradicts God’s word! Respectfully, TruthSeeker1
