I read that Solanus Casey was ordained sacerdotus simplex, which means he was not allowed to hear confessions and preach on dogma.

Is this type of ordination still done today?

I have been told that this practice was abolished. It was considered an improper limitation on the Sacrament of Orders. I believe it to be good information. I think it was a priest that told me. However, I cannot cite a source for that.
