Sacrament of confirmation?

I received confirmation a couple of years back, however for some reason this question came to mind now.
I remember when the oil was being put on my forehead, it burned quite a lot, was this a normal sensation, or was i not supposed to feel anything?
Sorry if this seems silly.

The oil usually has balsam. in it. It sounds like you may have had a skin reaction to that.
 
I went home and thoroughly washed my face immediately after the ceremony, and still got a breakout on my forehead that didn’t clear up for 2 months.
 
You may want to watch ingredient labels for balsam of peru – it’s a common ingredient and also, unfortunately, a common sensitivity. I am guessing that Corki assessed it correctly and that’s what you were reacting to.
