For those of us living in the UK do you feel fearful of what the future might hold for the sacrament of marriage if the government is successful in passing a law to allow gay marriage in churches? If in the future, gay couples take churches, synagogues, mosques etc to court or try to sue them for denying them this right, and are successful, what will happen to marriages between a man and a woman in a church, will it have to be conducted in secret? I’m a bit confused.

They will probably be conducted in a civil ceremony but never in a religious one especially Catholic. The priests not even the Pope has the power to overturn the law that God created which is to join man and woman in Holy Matrimony. A union between 2 men is not valid in the eyes of God and the Church has no power to go against that.

The Church and its followers also have the right to religious liberty, the right to know and follow its teachings and be respected.
