We used to go once a week when I was a kid in the 60’s but it sort of became a rote type of thing. We confessed the exact same sins every week “I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, fought with my brothers and sister.” It almost became a joke. If you had anything else to add to that it was a big thing. We didnt’ even think about it, the same sins every week. We would vary the number of times just to add a bit of variety. I was so glad when the nuns didn’t make us go every week.
