Can anyone tell me the proper positioning for the ribbons in the sacramentary? In other words, what colors go in what sections and why if possible. Thank you
Actually, the colors don’t matter. My PV can attest to that. He arranges the ribbons on the Roman Missal according to sections. This means that he’ll use the ribons in their order of appearance so as to keep them from criss-crossing. In fact, he re-arranged the ribbons on my Daily Roman Missal. Can anyone tell me the proper positioning for the ribbons in the sacramentary? You start with the seasons. Since we’re already into Ordinary Time, you put the first ribbon on the corresponding week in Ordinary Time. Next Sunday is the 17th Sunday, so place the first ribbon there. Then, you go to the Ordinary of the Mass. You place the second ribbon at the beginning. Then come the prefaces and EP. You just go down from there. It depends on what the celebrant wants to “bookmark”.Thank you for your reply…can you tell me what are the sections you put the different color ribbons in?
