Hello everyone. Lately I have been drawn towards the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I have just a quick simple question. Is there a recommended daily chaplet to the Sacred Heart in the same way that there is a Divine Mercy chaplet? What I mean is that, even though I have found a number of chaplets to the Sacred Heart online, I’m not sure if there is an “official” one or better yet, one that as indulgences attached to it.

Hello,

I don’t know of a chaplet, but there is a Litany to the Sacred Heart that has a partial indulgence. There is also an Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart that can be either a partial or plenary indulgence depending on various conditions.

Both are available online. Go to ‘Act of Reparation to the Sacred heart - EWTN’ to read details on the Act of Reparation and its indulgences.

Hope this helps.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Having done a search of the relevant document, I’m almost certain that there are no chaplets which, on their own, carry indulgences. However, piously using blessed Rosary beads—seemingly for whatever purpose, including to pray a chaplet—does have an indulgence attached. (The indulgence for praying the actual Rosary is separate from this one, which is listed in Norm number 15.)

There are some devotions related to the Sacred Heart, on the other hand, which *are *indulgenced. For example:
  • Devoutly reciting the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
  • An Act of Family Consecration to the Sacred Heart, especially if done so by a priest or deacon, and in front of an image of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus or the Holy Family. (Plenary.)
  • Devoutly reciting the act of reparation Iesu Dulcissime. (This is plenary if done yesterday during public worship.)
  • Piously reciting the Little Office of the Most Sacred Heart.

Okay. Thank you everyone for the well-informed replies. I greatly appreciate it and it has helped me! God bless.
