Hi everyone,
In the city of Hoboken, NJ there is said to have ocurred a miracle with a statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that has opened one of its eyes.

Just to give alittle background… The statue was found in the garbage by a man who had already constructed a religious shrine in front of the housing project in which he lives.

This housing project area in Hoboken is well-known for being a haven for drug dealers.

He placed this Sacred Heart statue in the shrine he had constructed.

The statue apparently had both eyes semi-closed and the right eye opened on its own. Many are claiming it is a miracle and one man has reported to the news that he was healed of his Cancer because of this miracle.

I don’t know if this is a hoax or not, but, will be going to see for myself what is going on since it is very close to where I live.

For anyone who wants to see pics of the statue you can visit this link:

God bless

Interesting…do you have an exact address for the location…I also am not far and would like to see it. Also after looking at the photos from the link you provided,it looks as the statues eyelid has broken off so it looks like his eye is open…but pictures can be decieving and I would rather see it in person.

** Karin ** On the news they said the address is 310 Jackson… I don’t know if it is Jackson Street or Avenue, but, I am sure it will be easy to find since the shrine is in front of the housing project on that street and with the publicity the shrine where the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is getting you’ll find it quick.

I am not one of those to believe every so called ‘miracle’ out there with the Virgin Mary or Christ appearing on walls, windows, taco’s and so on…

So, I already have ‘faith’ regardless of whether this newest ‘miracle’ turns out to be true or a hoax.

Anyway, I will be going tomorrow or Monday to see what is going on for myself.

God bless

Maryam: Thanks for the address…like you said it should not be too hard to find.
I did not mean to imply that you where one of those people that believed every new “miracle”…I was just stating what I saw in the photos…not directed at you or anyone else.

Although he has not posted since the Great July Server Meltdown, I think that may be RomanArmy’s parish. Maybe he will sign on and give us an update.

** Karin ** I didn’t take anything you said in being directed at me other than asking for the exact address. 🙂 It is just a case of my not being clear or writing well… lol

I was trying to explain, though rather poorly at that…lol That I am not one to go after every new ‘miracle’ story and have faith regardless, so am going to see what is the truth full of faith no matter what the outcome of what I find at this shrine may be. 🙂

** Wandering ** This is not ocurring in a church per se… but, in a constructed shrine. If what you meant was that this was in ** RomanArmy’s** Diocese because he lives in Hoboken, then that would be correct. The Diocese would be “the Newark Diocese”, which is mine as well.

God bless all

Hi all… well, just want to give an update to those that may be interested.

I went to the shrine today and stayed for about 30 minutes or so… I took some pics with my cell that didn’t come out too good due to the fact that it was a very hot day and the sun was shining directly over the shrine causing most of my pics to be washed out by the suns rays and not very clear.

I didn’t witness anything out of the ordinary, but, was touched by how lovingly the man who built the shrine takes care of it. Every 5 minutes or so you would have 2 or 3 people arrive at the shrine, so, it was a small crowd at the shrine for the most part.

The statue of the Sacred Heart was alittle different than what I had seen on the TV… it is now covered with many rosary’s and has 2 or 3 floral necklaces around its neck blue and red in color… The statue is also missing most of its 5 fingers on the right hand where wires stick out of the hand. The eyes remain the same… with the right one opened and the left semi-closed as if looking downward reflectively.

One thing did happen out of the ordinary… I met a man who made a great impression on me at the shrine and I felt a great peace in his presence as I was talking to him about the shrine… I was told after he left that he is a stigmatist… which surprised me as I never heard of him before…

I was told more things about this man and will go to his parish to speak with him more at length… so I don’t want to say his name in order to respect his privacy.

Anyway, that is all for now…

God bless all

**Alright I’m back, thanks WA for refering me to this thread. I heard nothing of this till just now. I was on vacation in Puerto Rico durring that time. I guess I’ll have to visit that site sometime soon to see that for myself. **
