Hello all!

What is the Sacred Heart of Jesus? I see people offering suffering up to it, but I mean, why can’t I take some of that suffering for Jesus? I don’t want Him to suffer too much for the sake of humanity. I’d rather suffer with or for him. If someone could explain the significance then maybe I would understand that I can’t take the suffering?

Thanks to all!

The heart of Jesus is sacred/holy (just as all of His Body is), and His heart was pierced on the cross, out of which poured blood and water. His heart suffered all through the agony in the garden, the torture, and rejection, and ultimately His suffering on the cross.

His heart suffers whenever we sin. We can’t stop this suffering, unless we work to stop sinning. We can’t “stop” this suffering, because Jesus is eternally present at all time. He is always present at the crucifixion and His passion. And we can’t take this suffering for Him. His sacrifice of Himself to the Father, an infinite and eternal gift, is the only thing that could atone and forgive our sins.

When people speak of offering up their suffering to His sacred heart, they are joining their suffering to His, just as St. Paul spoke of, to make their suffering have an eternal value and redemption. Your wish to alleviate His suffering is VERY commendable! Work to pray and offer up sacrifices as reparations for sins of the world.

The Sacred Heart is my most favorite devotion, along with the Rosary. The Sacred Heart is the most beautiful example of the pure, unconditional love that Jesus has for us - I can’t explain it any other way. 🙂

Nice.
