Shalom!
I’m going to recieve the Sacrement of Confirmation in 2009, so I did some research, and found many interesting things.
Confirmation, known also as Chrismation (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1289), is one of the seven sacraments instituted by Christ for the conferral of sanctifying grace and the strengthening of the union between individual souls and God
It is evident from its celebration that the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost.
From this fact, Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace:
The best part is that when I joined the Charimatic renewal, I could Speak in tongues, and I believe that it was a great blessing upon me!!! Does this mean that I’m Baptised in the Holy Spirit and Confirmed?

It is evident from its celebration that the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost.
From this fact, Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace:
- it roots us more deeply in the divine filiation which makes us cry, “Abba! Father!” (Romans 8:15);
- it unites us more firmly to Christ;
- it increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us;
- it renders our bond with the Church more perfect (cf. Lumen gentium, 11);
- it gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly, and never to be ashamed of the Cross (cf. Council of Florence (1439): DS 1319; LG 11; 12).
(Wikipedia)
- It makes a person call out Abba, Father(Romans 8:15)
- It caused the Apostles to speak in tounges (Acts 2:4, Acts 19:6)
- It causes someone to prophesy (Acts 19:6)
- It will make a person fearless of persecution (Mark 13:11)
- It causes overflowing joy (Luke10:21)
- It gives wisdom(John 14:26)
- It gives strength to witness Jesus boldly (Acts 1:8)
- it gives power to teach/preach(Acts 4:8)
and the list goes on and on!
The best part is that when I joined the Charimatic renewal, I could Speak in tongues, and I believe that it was a great blessing upon me!!! Does this mean that I’m Baptised in the Holy Spirit and Confirmed?
