Good day…

I was wondering how would one make a sacrifice to God in today’s day and age?

Compared to Bible times where they would have to slaughter animals…unless that still applies?..

No, slaughtering animals as sacrifice does absolutely NOT apply any more.

The Holy Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross has redeemed the entire human race and atoned for all of our sins in such a way that the possibility of Heaven was opened up to us if we follow Jesus through His Catholic Church the way we ought.

Visit the Vatican website for the Catechism (Part One, Chapter Two, Section Two, Article Four, Paragraph Two) and a more thorough explanation of Jesus’ loving Sacrifice for us on the Cross that we may live.

On another note, we, as Catholics, personally “make sacrifice” to God by uniting our sufferings to those of Jesus and offering them up to the Father. We also fast and abstain from the things that we enjoy as a means of penance

By showing mercy toward others.

The New Life in Christ ] I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
