Sad - open conflict between SSPX and FSSP in Mexico

We should all be loathe to treat as an infallible truth, an entry on a blog. The end of the post certainly has a good deal of polemics about the nasty SSPX. With that said, regardless of what the underpinings of this event was, including what may have been said back and forth between the faithful of these chapels, any desecration of a Catholic Church is sinful.
 
Let me reiterate that while the article was first posted on a blog, the event in question has been substantiated by other sources. Please be clear that I did not post the link to be inflammatory in any way, but simply as a source, and the opinions contained within the link are not necessarily my own. I have not found any links to BETTER (or more impartial) sources with more information yet, but I will post them when I find them.

No offense taken at your post. The same post appeared on the Angelqueen Board, so it is being discussed over there also. My admonition is that it is only hearsay until corroborated in an official way, especially the particulars of the event. I certainly would not dismiss it out-of-hand but would tempre the details with a grain of salt until verified.

The faithful, alas, are made up of humans and the only saints I know of don’t reside in this realm. The cantankerousness with which we frequently treat eachother on boards such as these, will manifest themselves in the real (non-cyber) world until we allow charity to always rule the day. If the event took place as reported, it is absolutely inexcusable and I could not fathom the justification of disfiguring a place where the Blessed Sacrament resides. .
 
Like most other groups, the SSPX appears to be a mixed bag (though perhaps more mixed than most). The only one I ever met was quite venemous toward the Pope and was an outright Feeneyist. He seemed a most prideful and uncharitable character. However, I am sure that there are many there who desire to be united with the Catholic Church, and are where they are simply because they cannot abide the outrages that have so wounded the Church’s liturgical life since Vatican II. I do have a little sympathy for that.

So I think there are some who give the SSPX an especially bad name, but the benefit of the doubt should be given that there are likely many who are well-intentioned. The problem is that a basically Protestant outlook can lead to very strong hatred against the Church. If you say that disobedience is justified, there is no theoretical stopping point to the scope of the revolt.

I would agree that disobedience to a superior (Pope, Bishop, Superior General, policeman, custodial parent, etc) is always a grave matter and never to be taken lightly.
