Lessee…The Bishops are not excommunicated( and I’m really glad) but regularization has not YET occured, though I expect it will come soon regardless of what the French think. Patience. It will come without the aceptance of VII as dogma/doctrine. Grace will come but we must be patient for a little more.
H. E. Williamsons comments were ill advised at the very least. He could have been jailed for making them where he did by law. Bottom line, he’s a smart guy, he should have known better. His apology should be returned to him and he should be asked to apologize for WHAT he said (in my opinion), not for how people reacted to it. His apology was for causing controversy when there was no real need to do so. I can accept that and so will the Church. Realistically, anybody reading his letter knows it’s not a good, clean apology like it should have been and H.E. knew that when he drafted it. He’s not a dope nor is the Cardinal or HH. There will be more to come on this I’m sure. Objectively, quit defending the indefensable and to the people ready to “string him up”, put away the rope. Patience–we have plenty of stupid people on both sides of the group as we detail ad nasuem.
There is enough mean spiritedness and bigotry on BOTH sides to fill Rome. Give each side the time and grace necessary to come to a reasonable conclusion to this matter. Patience
