I heard about a similar case a couple years ago (prob also in the US), and the child was only maybe 3…it was quite miraculous that he survived. 😦 I hope there is some family member able to take this boy in.

That is sad… I would really hope that when my kids were that age, they would have known to call an ambulance or something even if they knew I was dead.

I really pray that this kid isn’t made to be a poster child for some anti-homeschooling rhetoric.

The article I read about this story said the boy was from a good home. The mother was a good mother, so I don’t think there will be any anti-homeschooling flak.

That was my thought. When I read that line, I thought, “DANGIT, why did they have to throw that in; how is it relevant?” But I think they mentioned it because they thought that was a factor in nobody realizing she was dead; he wasn’t going to a school setting where his lack of a packed lunch or clean clothes might have been noticed, or where he would have talked about what happened. Also, the neighbors were probably used to not seeing her out during the day because of homeschooling.

Although, in the good weather, if I’m not out in the garden or backyard at least twice a week, my neighbor next door calls to see if I’m okay! 🤷
