greggy. If you want to make a point trying putting more than one sentence together (if you can.) Otherwise go back to the schoolyard where your tripe will fit in. [/QUOTE said:
Are you always this encouraging ?

Mary, whom greatly loves you and who ultimately loves her King, has time and time again pointed you to her Son, but you refuse to go to Him.

:tsktsk:

That was brazen and rude. I know more about Him than you will until you open your heart to the Holy Family.

Goodnight. You have proven yourself unworthy to continue speaking with. I was trying to help you. Instead, you insult.

I will pray for you.
I certainly didn’t mean it as an insult, instead I was trying to help you also, for you to know that Jesus Christ loves you more than words can explain and showed that by giving His life as a ransom for yours. It’s OK for you to go to Him and speak to Him as a daughter speaks to her Father.

Nine_Two, I really don’t know who you think you are that you can spit on my love for Jesus Christ. Cross or Crucifix what’s the deal here with your rude comments?

Matthew 27:40 (King James Version)

And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

Do you hate the parable of the prodigal son also?
What? I hardly think there is anything rude in what I said. I simply find it hard to believe that you were raised in a completely Catholic environment if you don’t know the basic terminology used. In fact if you did know the terminology I would consider what you said to be quite offensive.

Nothing you posted seems to have to do with anything.

If you want to stoop to insults, then by all means, feel free.

I’m with Nine Two in that, it would be inescapeable for someone to claim they did not know a crucifix, or what it meant if they even had a cursory aquaintance with the catholic faith.

Wishing I could post the pic of Mary with Son, as all eastern rites do so.

I can’t remember the name, it is in cold marble, but it comes hot and alive

Mary holding her son after death. Pietra?

He was already crucifyed and she was holding his bloody body, wraping him up in her arms.

Don’t you call it in the Church “The Way of the Cross” … And don’t you call it “The Sign of the Cross” Your really splitting hairs here, trying to come up with any reason to disbelieve everything I’ve told you.

Here’s the basic terminology I’ve been using.

St. Paul says, in 1 Corinthians 1:17: “For Christ sent me not to baptize; but to preach the gospel: not in wisdom of speech, lest the cross of Christ should be made void”; in Galatians 2:19: “With Christ I am nailed to the cross”; in Ephesians 2:16: Christ . . . . “might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross”; in Philippians 3:18: “For many walk . . . enemies of the cross of Christ”; in Colossians 2:14: “Blotting out the handwriting of the decree that was against us, which was contrary to us. And he hath taken the same out of the way, fastening it to the cross”; and in Galatians 6:14: “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world”.

It seems clear, therefore, that for St. Paul the Cross of Christ was the correct terminology to use for the remembrance of Christ’s sufferings and death and also a word closely associated with His sacrifice and the mystery of the Passion.

You still have issue with this?

I’m confused to what you are saying here. Strawberry Jam is referring to the Pieta:

The Sign of the Cross is when Catholics say “In the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit” by crossing themselves thus affirming the Trinity and Christ’s sacrifice at the same time; it also serves as a reminder to one’s baptismal promises which is why you see Catholic sign themselves at a holy water font in the Church.

I’ve never heard of the Way of Cross but the Stations of the Cross are a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice wherein Catholics, during Lent on Friday, recall each station of Our Lord’s suffering for us.

If you’d like to make a thread about Marian devotion, you are welcome to do so. I’d encourage you to read more about Catholicism as well.

Yes, you were saying “stickman on a cross”, which has nothing to do with what you just said, and I think you know that.

Listen, the “stickman on the cross” expression was my way to describe to the reader how clear the image was in detail compared to the other two. I was trying to make a point of how demoting it appeared in resolution as well as the size difference. Maybe if you saw the picture, you too would say “its a stickman on a cross”.

Listen, just because you don’t like the size or placement of a crucifix in a photograph doesn’t mean that Catholics place the Pope or Mary higher than Jesus. This is just your anti-Catholic prejudice looking for a place to roost. No, we wouldn’t call it a “stickman on a cross” because as Christians we revere our Lord Jesus and would never demean him by saying that. It’s a crucifix. By the way, I’ve always wondered why Protestants are afraid to make the sign of the cross? If I use your logic I would assume that they don’t make the sign of the cross because they really don’t believe in his death or resurrection.

The only agenda I was trying to advance is one: “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”

There is much hope that some day I may return to the Catholic church, but I can’t close my eyes to what I see. It hurts too much when I see the things I’ve tried to explain.

It is as if you drowning in the middle of a lake unable to save yourselve and screaming for help and then this one man swims out and saves you and carry’s you back safely to shore. But the next day there are these pictures of the rescue scene in the newspaper and there’s these two faces you know didn’t swim out to get you.

I will continue to uphold Him as Lord and King.

Realy? I have never seen any kind of Protestant make the sign of the cross…

So, to use your comparison in the picture Mary and the Pope are “taking credit” for the saving work that Jesus did…Right?

Does it say that in the picture? Is there a caption that reads…“Remember, Mary and the Pope died for your sins!”

No, of course not. Again that is what YOU want it mean. If there had been no crucifix at all in the picture would it have been less offensive to you? No. Why don’t you just admit that you don’t like the Papacy, and you don’t believe in devotion to the Blessed Mother. Just spit it out…you’ll feel better, or not.

Mary or the Pope didn’t paint themselves on the picture, someone else put them there. Just as Mary didn’t mold herself to be placed as a shrine near your flower gardens. Someone else shaped her and placed her there.

OK, so someone else is giving Mary and the Pope credit for Jesus saving work by painting a picture of them. This is getting ridiculous
