For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
I’m not sure what you are trying to communicate here…I have an idea, but at this point it would be an assumption…Why don’t you just come out and say it?

You know, this debate leads me to think of those that Jesus had with the Pharisees. His words were always from the heart . They on the otherhand were always trying to catch Him in a trap.
By this I take it you mean that we are the Pharisees, and you of course are Jesus.
I’m sure your Protestant brothers are quite pleased with your example of humility, and Christian charity.

Don’t demean the symbols of the Church,
I have said over and over that if anything, the individual who made the picture defamed the symbol of the church for making it appear as it had. How else was I to express my disatisfaction from the picture I saw.

Why are you so anxious to protect the symbols of the church but not the One who laid Himself on it for the atonement of your sins?

Yes, yes, I know what you’re saying, Catholics are a bunch of inhuman idol worshippers.

Now do you know what I’m saying: Have respect for people, especially on their own board.

I have from the beginning been upfront and outright forthcoming in every post I written.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

I don’t know of any Catholic that would have qualms with this, nor would anything in Catholic teaching suggest a problem with it. They and the Orthodox (and I) would have a problem with your fallible interpretation of it. 😉

Andrew

For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

What an odd bit of scripture to post here. You’ve been posting the pharisee this entire time.

He can dance all he wants, but I’m not going to dance with him.🙂
And you won’t dance with me unless you repent.

To continue my story of my conversion from condemnation to life through the everlasting grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I told you before in my posts of my awful sinful life and my reading the Word of God, my eventual trusting of the free gift that Jesus offered, because I was convinced that He was True. I came to believe that He was indeed the “Son of the Living God” and only He held the keys to everlasting life and forgiveness of my sin through the shedding of His precious blood on the alter that His Father had prepared for Him.

Knowing this, and who I was, a sinful, undeserving, and unworthy beggar, I put my hand with His hand, and trusted Him for my salvation in this life and in the one to come. You see, I knew I had nothing to offer before Him, I was condemned to eternal damnation before His Holy law. So, mercy and grace is all that I could ever recieve from Him.

Most importantly as I stated before, I knew who I was and my love for sin and therefore there was no reason to reach out for His hand if He were to leave me without the promise of His helping me. Else I would just return to the same lifestyle I was leading. Why enter into an agreement if you know that you are unable to fullfill your word?

So I can only say that He has remained faithful to me and through His spirit and the seed of an unexplainable love in my heart for Him, He has lifted me out of the eternal damnation I deserved. Now He goes before me and proclaims me as an adopted son of the Most High and I proclaim Him as King and Savior of Heaven and Earth.

My testimony to you is that Jesus Christ is Alive, and “He IS”, and He sits on the heavenly throne to redeem sinners into His kingdom of everlasting life. This is as I understand the “Good News” of the Gospel.

I preach to you to also reach out and learn of Him, and turn way from all your reliance on symbols and self constructed ideas where protecting the words that men call them is percieved as righteousness.

Do you believe that he doesn’t believe in the saving power of Our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ?

I’m not disagreeing with your testimony, I’m disagreeing with your attitude.

I do, however, find it sad that you are unable to look past symbols to the True Faith. I am not saved by the crucifix, or the cross. Salvation comes from what the crucifix represents though, the death and resurrection of Christ himself.

Naw I am not offended, I came for curiuosity, and have stayed to give some balance I honestly beleive Catholics are in denial as to who they are as opposed to who they say they are.
That’s news to me. I’m a Catholic and I didn’t think I was in denial about anything. If its all the same to you, I think I’ll follow my Church’s 2000 years of teaching and Tradition instead of your arbitrary judgement. I’m sorry if I’m being harsh, but I’m sick of these types of criticisms.

I do not think I have skirted around anything. I shared a very sincere episode of my turn to the only one Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I told of an experience I had when I viewed a calander in a mexican restaurant. Then we went round and round about my use of a phrase to describe what I saw. Some of you questioned my authenticity. I shared some pictures of Our Lord. I shared some verses from scripture that I felt were pertinate to my story. With my last post, I casted a pearl out there that was very dear to me. What don’t you understand?
  1. Why do you think Catholics, or for that matter Orthdox since Nine Two and Harpazo are EO, have not repented?
  • What is wrong with encouraging others to repent and seek Jesus Christ. Do I really need to offer you several hundred examples in scripture where we are instructed to do likewise. Didn’t John the baptist preach saying: Do penance: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
  1. Why do you not come out and say what you have to say openly?
  • I have openly shared everything that I am and the very core of my being. Do you wish to put me on trial?

How is that not presumptuous of our souls on your part? Honestly, how would you feel if I told you to abandon your Protestant heretical and blasphemous beliefs and embrace the true Church of Jesus Christ instead of a caricature of it?

Orthodox have the opportunity to pray several times a day, as do Catholics, for the repentance of their souls. We pray, fast, read psalms, chant hymns, light candles, set incense, etc. We seek after Christ daily, sometimes many times daily. Our salvation has a beginning point, but does not end until we die and even then we are still being made whole. To presume that we do not know Christ would be claiming something that God can claim.

You have been incredibly cryptic, I must agree with Jharek. Either have the guts to say that we are doomed for eternal hell fire for not professing an Evangelical credo or knock it off. This is becoming old.

In Christ,
Andrew
