I see a Protestant kneeling by his bed. He has his Bible on the bed in front of him with his hands folded, head bowed and eyes closed facing the Bible. His forehead is also touching the Bible. Do I assume he is worshiping the Bible? Do I then I assume all Protestants worship Bibles?

In Christ,
Andrew
Well, your assuming correctly that if a man is kneeling by the bed with a Bible he is most likely a Protestant. The rest of your conclusion you have already made.

I am sorry, in what part of your “testimony” is bearing false witness allowed?
Sorry? What are you sorry for? I’m glad you asked!

The are ten commandments total. The one you asked about is near the end.

**And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God…

‘You shall have no other gods before Me.’

‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.’

‘You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.’

‘Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.’

‘Honor your father and your mother.’

‘You shall not murder.’

‘You shall not commit adultery.’

‘You shall not steal.’

‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.’

‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.’ **

Then you should probably stop.

I’m only 15 and just a beginner Catholic, and I wasn’t aware of ALL the misinterpretation of Catholocism by other branches of Christianity. But now I have some idea. I found a website called jesus-is-savior.com, which devoted a lot of time to terrible misinterpretation through words, pictures, etc. Of Roman Catholocism. It shocked me. Naively, I hadn’t thought of what wrong things others might be reading about the faith. The website claimed that Catholics worship Mary, Catholics are heretics, the rosary is from the devil, etc. The whole thing has made me extremely sad. Have you seen this website personally, or had a similar experience of shock that I’ve had? How can anyone believe those things against the church?
A relative of mine can’t say “Mary” without a huffy sigh and some protestants believe that the Roman Catholic Church is the ghastly woman in revelation.

I think my sister has a point, her opinion is there’s an anti-woman sentiment in protestant churches and they would have omitted Mary from the Bible altogether if they could make it work.🍿

What part of my testimony would you like me stop?
It’s not really a testimony, not in the sense that you think. Throwing scriptures around and pretending that there is some secret interpretation for them that you know, but we are ignorant of is not a testimony. Nor is the way you talk down to people. Not a good testimony anyway. Comparing yourself to Jesus is a display of conceit, and our Lord was humble so, you are not going to convince us of anything we don’t already know. Jesus told us we would know the tree by it’s fruit and all I see hanging on you is sour grapes.🙂

…she also taught that she was a pre-Catholic Celtic Christian, even though most of her ideas were clearly from the reformation.
I had to read that a few times before I was sure I was reading it correctly. It reminded me very much of a claim made by a UPC minster I knew a long time ago. He claimed that the UPC was actually around from the days of the foundation of the Church and that the UPC went underground for nearly 2000 years of “Trinitarian oppression”.

It is truly amazing what some people will claim… I know, I used to make some outlandish claims myself. Thanks be to God that he never gave up on me in-spite of the heresies of my youth.

In Christ,

Scott Irey

I dont see Yeshua (pbwh) as instructing us to ritual the passover in mass. I see him as telling us to do as he did, meaning be more like him in our day to day dealing with others.
You are wrong in what you see.
Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.
In John He says
I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give** is my flesh **for the life of the world."
I dont dispute the mass is very important and brings sharing in His presence.
I think that is way wrong, the greatest gift he gave me was his sacrifice so i can have relationship with Our Father, this moves me to live for others not rituals.
You do not understand the Mass. The Mass is the** same** sacrifice of the cross.

For you say it is a call to ritual re inactment, thats great but some of us are called to give of ourselves in day to day lives, the irony is you say i am wrong
and i say you are not wrong but the message he gave was about living for each other and putting our own selves on the line for each other. Our Father blesses us so much in the mass but IMO if you see Yeshua (pbwh) call to ritual and say i am wrong that he called us to act you maybe adrift.

It echoes my interpretation well. Have you done much study on the Jewish understanding of that day in regards to the meaning of sharing a persons bread and drinking from their cup?

I wonder if your PP would say i am wrong or we are right?

Peace and blessings to you and yours

Remember! From the very beginning, you were accusing me of not being once catholic because of the correct use of a word to describe a symbol. Then I was accused of degrading the symbol. Then I was accused of attacking Marian theology. Yes, I felt like I was on trial, similar to what Jesus may have felt when He was attacked by His accusers. All of these accusations came forth because I was disappointed in the way a calender glorified our Lord.

Our Lord was humble, yet when He was accused of being deceitful, He often challenged his accusers without such character. How about this statement in Matthew 23:33.

“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”

Also have you not read in Mark 1 where Jesus said:

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

Was He out of your perception of a Christian character when He used the word “Repent”.

Yes, I felt like I was on trial
Peace and blessings rocket man, CAF is all about being on trial. I have posted and have many unrelated statments thown at me. Thats what some religious people do.

At some stage G-d has given us (in scripture i think) not to put obsticals in the way of belivers.

We all need to love each other and trust the spirit will grow those He chooses.

No he wasn’t, but you are. I wasn’t speaking to Jesus I was speaking to you. I think it’s kind of funny how you keep comparing yourself to Jesus and us to the Pharisees. I haven’t seen any Christ like behavior coming from you yet, but you keep telling us how holy you are and how deceitful we are. You my friend are the one acting like the Pharisees. I recall questioning your motives for using the word “stickman” to describe a Christian symbol but I’ve said nothing regarding you being a Catholic, or Marion theology either. I took issue with what you said regarding the crucifix.

When you can show some evidence to your testimony other than your personal word,.
You have been accusing others of things you can’t prove… we have a name for that here in the USA.

What do you think it would be?

You can choose to ignore me, but I will continue to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord as I have from the very beginning. You tend to be more concerned with using the right words for the wrong reasons. Any brother of mine would not call my love for Jesus as “bilge”.
it is important not to take the name of the Lord in vain.

A testimony, in religious things, isn’t about proof. It’s about a statement of one’s own faith. The only proof required is the statement; “I believe…” Simply saying that is sufficient. You may not agree with whatever it is that is believed, but you can’t ask someone to prove that they actualy BELIEVE it.

Unless, of course, you would care to prove to me that you believe in your own faith?

A testimony (in the context of this OP’s thread Dianiad) is related to an accusatory statement made by the OP denigrating Catholics. It’s no surprise I see you here to help in that effort.

Except, of course, if you look at my history of posting on this thread, you will find that I dislike such websites, advised the writer of the OP to stay away from them, and have a major problem with folks who write them.

but please, don’t let actually facts get in the way of anything. Carry on…

You have done a fine job of mixing good things with bad things. In such an amount, it is not noticed by the person drinking the poison, that it is poison.

It looks really good, untill you look at it with both eyes open.
