Bishop Cistone passed on Tuesday Oct 16, 2018. a half-year after revealing he was suffering from lung cancer. He had undergone a course of immunotherapy. Later it was announced that therapy had not worked and that his cancer had spread.

He had served as an auxiliary of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 6 years before his appointment as the 6th Bishop of Saginaw, Michigan.

May he Rest In Peace.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
