Now, I am hoping that this topic is relevant to the forum apologetics, but i wanted to be sure that i received a clear answer.

Through out the past i have met various catholics who carry around, usually as a necklace, an amulet of sorts. These amulets usually depict a certain saint.

Now, while on pinterest I ran across wicca/pagan jewelry.
I was nervous about investigating further but wicca has become a growing religion much to my chagrin.

unfortunately, i found saint amulets mixed in with the rest. I googled saint amulets and found a “born psychic.com” website that also included saint amulets, the sacred heart of Jesus ect.

This really bothers me. Pagan/wicca makes me uneasy enough but I have been trying to research into the Catholic faith for a while now and saint amulets/necklaces have been something that I have not really addressed yet, until now.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Its those wiccans at it again. Don’t worry, I can assure You that I have a lot of Medals (They aren’t amulets or good luck charms, proper terminology is a big + here) and I do not use them as good luck charms or to cast spells or anything. If You want some Saint MEDALS (Thats all they are, Medals with an effigy of a particular saint of Our LORD imprinted on it, just as a coin has the effigy of the head of state) look into Aquinas and More catholic gifts, or truly Catholic online shops. People steal everything that is Catholic. Look at all those Rosary wearers. Those upstart young people (Im not bashing the ones who wear it because they pray it) wear it for jewlery, something that it wasn’t intended to be.

Catholic medals are a lucrative business. They are very popular and there are a lot of Catholics out there. There are websites which sell gang jewelry and crucifixes side by side. There is nothing we can really do about it.

In Arizona I saw a store that sold both liquor and ammunition. 🤷 We really can’t stop people from selling things.

Many pagans/wicca feel that the entire spiritual world is open to them as a religion. They freely move into and out of any religion as they see fit because to them, it is all just the spiritual realm and one part is as good as another. They could be at a druid ritual one day and a Catholic Church the next, and to them, it is all spirituality. There might be some of this going on.

Don’t worry about any of it. Most Catholics buy saint medals from reputable sources. The pagan websites you are looking at are probably run by some businessman in suburban Virginia or Connecticut who has no interest in wicca or paganism but only sells the stuff because it makes money.

We do not permit “amulets” or “magical” items…such is contrary to the Catholic Faith.

so then to clarify the proper term here is “medal” not “amulet”

Right “amulet” has an occult or magical connotation.

Medals are devotional or to commemorate some event.
