We’ll celebrate Saint Anthony on Friday this week. 🙂 He’s helped me quite few things from finding keys, rosaries, safety for my car, to a parking space. 🙂

It is funny that I had a dream last night in which my brother would perform a surgery on the back of my neck. In real life, he is a physician and a non-Catholic Christian. In the dream, he was worried about me going through the surgery that he might lose me. I wasn’t afraid, I told him to pray and ask Saint Anthony that he would not lose me after the surgery. At the end of the dream, I was fine except I was happily in a wheel chair moving around. What a weird dream!

I think I need a new pillow. That might be the cause for this dream. 😃

I love st. Anthony! What a miracle worker! His life shows what just one person can do.
 
My mother’s birthday is Saint Anthony’s feast day, and she has quite a devotion to him.

Funny story - when she taught CCD, one of the activities was for each class to present a saint, complete with having one of the kids dress up as that saint. Mom had everything for a Saint Anthony costume, except white flowers. She didn’t have time to go to a store for white flowers after work, so as she drove to the church, she said, “St. Anthony, if you want us to have white flowers, you’ll have to find me some between here and the church.”

As she rounded the curve, she came upon the house of a local rent-a-clown, who was standing out in his yard in full clown regalia, waving at rush hour traffic and holding a big bunch of white silk flowers.

Mom said, “you’ve got to be kidding me.” But she pulled up into the clown’s driveway and asked to borrow the flowers, and the clown gave them to her. (She did return them later, btw.)

Saint Anthony is our Parish saint. His feast is Friday and on the 29th this month our parish will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. Awesome.😃
 
My Baptismal name is Anthony. My mother had a difficult pregnancy when she carried me and so she prayed to St. Anthony and promised him that if I was healthy, she would name me after him.

She decided that my Baptismal name would be Anthony instead of my first, because being French and because Anthony is a common Italian first name, she didn’t want any confusion. 😃

Either way, St. Anthony is one of my favorite Saints, and although I’ve never really felt close to him, for some reason, this past year, I’ve felt very close to him, especially the past couple of weeks. I even stumbled upon an old novena card that I had, to St. Anthony. 🤷

I’ve been praying a novena to St. Anthony that will conclude on Friday. Our wedding anniversary is Saturday, though at the time of our marriage I didn’t know St. Anthony’s feast was so close. I love the depiction of him holding the child Jesus – it’s so beautiful and peaceful. 🙂
 
St. Anthony is awesome! (I just saw his bio on “Super Saints”, again… last night).

Did you know that his tongue is incorrupt? Check out the link below. He was not only a miracle worker… but a powerful evangelist and was known as the “Hammer of the Heretics”. God bless! 🙂

Not only am I devoted to St. Anthony, but my late Mom and I used to call him “our friend”. We’d been to Padua several times - on the feast day and not on the feast.

Today, in Padua - there is not a hotel room to be had (we had St. Anthony find one for us once!) Crowds of people all day. Youngsters dressed in “Franciscan” robes (I suppose being dedicated to the Saint) - having pictures taken in front of the Basilica. And a procession of the statue at night…while inside lie the remains of the Saint’s body being venerated by a crush of people waiting their turn to touch his tomb.

You used to be able to see the all-day activities live on the net if you go to a link that might be Basilica of St. Anthony, Padua, Italy. I’m not giving the right link but try something in your search engine - and be at Padua before the day is over - it’s six hours ahead of the U.S.

I am grateful God has blessed us with the ability to have heavenly intercessors.
 
I want to thank St. Anthony for helping me finding a misplaced book in my house, and through finding and reading that book, I was led to my spiritual director. Going to my spiritual director, I was given various opportunities to serve in my parish and experienced numerous amazing grace.

God’s mysterious ways are tremendous.

I went to mass early today and ask Saint Anthony and together with Our Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for my car to pass the inspection.

My car passed inspection today! I went to Eucharistic Adoration first then took care of my car. The mechanic also gave me a free Coolant Flush!!! (that is more than $60).

Thanks be to God for Your Love being demonstrated through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Anthony and others in Heaven.
