Has anyone every been to Saint Anthony’s Chapel in Pittsburgh, PA? I was wondering three things…(1) Are all the relics at a location where one could touch a sacramental (ie, rosary, medal, etc.) to it or at least to the glass of the reliquary? (2) Is there a comprehensive list somewhere of the relics the Chapel contains? (3) I assume that each relic is clearly labeled - is that a correct assumption?

I’ve already checked their website but didn’t find anything. I’ve also reached out to them but am awaiting a response. I just thought someone on here might already know the info.

1.They are in glass cases as recall.
  1. I do not recall --there are too many to go through a list 🙂
  2. As I recall they are labeled one way or another.
Sorry I could not be of more help

Thanks for the (name removed by moderator)ut, Bookcat. Does the answer above mean that one is not able to touch an item to the reliquary itself?

As I recall…I think they are behind glass…(walls of them) but then again it has been many years so I could be wrong…trying to remember ten or fifteen years ago …

Certainly a great pilgrimage …surrounded by the relics of part of the great cloud of witnesses …

I have been there. All the reliquaries are behind glass, but they might take one out for you if you ask nicely. I think I read an article about the sister there doing that for somebody once.

There is the body of a martyr under the altar, though, so you could touch your sacramentals to that pretty easily, and would still “count.”

I hope you do get there. By the way, I think the way 3-rd class relics work is a little looser than we sometimes think, so I would go ahead. There are no actual Church rules regarding those.
