Hello,

Forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong place, but I feel like it might belong in spirituality. First off, I consider myself a very logical man. Almost to the point of a doubting Thomas. However, A few nights ago I had a weird dream that has been burned into my memory, as if it were more than a dream. I was hoping I could get some (name removed by moderator)ut…I was running from some demons with a bunch of people, who I think were just people made up in my dream, when off in the distance, on the porch of this abandoned house I saw a shadow figure…at first I was scared, but the shadow moved quickly before I could blink right up beside me. It was a figure dressed in gold robes, with these giant shoulder garments. I remember him saying something to me, and me being calm. I woke up and couldn’t remember anything he said to me, all I could remember is him saying something about being Saint Francis of Loyola? I was so confused…After I fell back asleep I kept dreaming about a demon trying to get a hold of me, but Mary protecting me. I was praying the Hail Mary over and over in the dream…

Now, I grew up by Benedictines my whole life, I have never even met a Jesuit priest. I have heard of Saint Francis Xavier before and Saint Ignatius of Loyola before, but it was a long long time ago that I heard of them. I was not surprised to find out Saint Francis of Loyola didn’t exist; however, I was surprised to find the deep connection between St. Francis and St. Ignatius…

My fiancé told me maybe I wasn’t supposed to remember what he said to me, but maybe I was just supposed to remember seeing this.

I am not convinced the dream even means anything, but I am curious to hear other’s (name removed by moderator)ut.

I’ve had dreams where I was given special spiritual knowledge but could not remember what it was upon awaking. I feel that this knowledge is still floating around in me somewhere, probably deep in the unconscious.

Same here. In fact, one dream I had about fifteen years ago, something was said to me that explained everything to me in an instant. It was one sentence that was spoken, and I vividly recall thinking in the dream “Why, of course! So simple. Why didn’t I ever think of that??” Unfortunately, I cannot recall what the priest said.

I’ve also had dreams about saints: St. Therese, St. Madeleine Sophie, St. Pio, and St. Frances Cabrini. Also, Our Lady in one dream. She was holding the Christ Child in Her arms and bent over to hand Him to me.

You mentioned about our Blessed Mother Mary protecting you. She is our Mother in the order of grace, and a great gift from our Lord Jesus Christ to us. She magnifies the Lord for us.

I rarely have good dreams, but when i have had them and i have awoken from one too quick, i have tried going back to sleep, demanding the same dream come back…haha

Like you to, i have often forgotten parts of a dream which may have seemed important.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate everyone who responded to this. I felt kind of crazy just posting this. I’m glad others have had similar experiences. I just wonder if it was just a dream without any meaning, or if it was meant to be more.

Dreams really are curious things. Not really explainable, even on a scientific level.

I think the Dream means you are afraid of demons.

The Saint is help.

You are to engage with faith and Prayer in spiritual warfare.

Don’t be afraid of demons. Jesus has the victory over them and this is a mop up op.

Do a little research into the spirituality of saint Loyola. You will learn much.

In my view almost all dreams are just dreams and mean nothing and you should realise also there is certainly nobody in these forums qualified to interpret any dreams. Any opinions you get will be simply wild speculation.

All advice is speculation.

Of course some people are more educated and experienced then others.

The ideal would be a psychiatrist who has at least a decade of experience and who is in good standing with the church and well versed in the bible with some charism from God in understanding human beings, discernment, and a track reccord for being helpful and successful in his or her work.

Also with a particular interest in dreams and whom has counseled great
Sinners and great saints.
