Anybody have a devotion to her? Have any of you ever been ambushed by her? She’s helped me a lot this last year or so…

I saw the title on the new threads bit to the left and I obviously was going to jump in 😉

St Catherine is my patron saint (as though my signature isn’t a bit of a possible clue!).

I was confirmed at a time when people around me including my family were not exactly wildly supportive of my spiritual journey and I feel a drew a certain strength from her life story, in overcoming some of her own personal challenges in leading the particular spiritual life she was called to lead. I prayed to her for guidance and well…here I am now, and I have had a devotion to her ever since.

Besides which, she was just such a thoroughly awesome woman, unafraid to speak truth to power, in an age when it was pretty hard to be a woman at all 👍

May you be continue to be refreshed and remembered in her unceasing prayers to Our Lord 🙂

Can’t say I have been ambushed by her, however I did a group study on her life in my small faith group last year. Her connection to Christ and at such a young age,her very personal relationship to Him gave me chills. She was truly blessed by the Lord and a wonderful inspiration.🙏

She is so inspiring!

The Lord chose and prepared her for some special works, and she cooperated.

I very much enjoyed reading the book “Catherine of Siena” by Sigrid Undset, and then decided to read “The Life of St. Catherine of Siena” as recorded by her spiritual director, Blessed Raymond of Capua".

All things are possible with God.

I was reading catholicin Brooklyn blog and that blogger mentioned her and then I read about her and then she caught my attention and captivated my heart and mind…

When she captures your heart and inspires you?
Thank you for the clarification. This is the first time I have heard the word ambush used with a positive connotation.

Your explanation makes perfect sense.

Those of you devoted to St. Catherine of Siena, storm heaven for me please. I see she’s the patron saint of miscarriages and her intervention is desperately needed today. I’m begging her to spare us another loss. Please pray for my family.
