EWTN just had a terrific story about Saint Molla who is the patron Saint of Unborn Children, Physicians and mothers. She herself was a Physician and gave her life for her unborn child.

I had never heard of her but it was a touching story and program of the Canonization (with her husband present).

I think it is wonderful that the Catholic Church recognizes and honors the saints among us who are examples of virtue and who live out their faith in Christ.

An interesting side note to the above as it relates to Pro Life is that I heard a two part presentation by Fr. Frank Pavone (Priests for Life) on the late D. James Kennedy’s Truths that Transform program. Appartently Fr. Pavone was a conference speaker.

He was very good (powerful advocate) and it means that millions of non Catholic listeners heard such a postive presentation by a Roman Catholic Priest (even referred to him as “Father”).

St. Gianna Molla is the also the Patron Saint of the girls residence I am currently living in. 🙂

I personally just love her.

We saw it, too. And it was simply beautiful. I’m so glad that EWTN is airing such wonderful series… especially on the lives of modern day saints. There have been so many, in recent history. And so many, who are “upcoming” (John Paul II, comes immediately to mind).

St. Gianna is a wonderful, inspiring example of what a truly holy Lay Person… should and can be. She gave witness to God and His Church… by the heroic living of her everyday life and ultimately, with her death. I found it particularly inspiring… that this saint gave witness to LIFE… through the giving of her own life… for her daughters sake.

I have heard it said somewhere, that the Holy Spirit is now bringing forth many saints of the Laity. In time, the Laity will take it’s place alongside the holy priests and religious of our precious faith. Praise God!🙂

Thank you for the information on the Saint, RevDrNorth!
I will remember to ask her for intercession of many unborn children.

God bless you!
