Saint Hijacking

On St. Patrick’s Day, I was told by some Seventh Day Adventists that St. Patrick was also one because he “observed the Sabbath”. Obviously, he could not have been a Seventh Day Adventist, because the group was not created until the 1800’s. He was a Catholic. But does anyone know a little more about their basis for this claim?

Of course, we still hold that the Sabbath is on Saturday too. Its date was never “changed”. But with the Church and in harmony with history, we celebrate the Lord’s Day instead - on Sunday, as the fulfillment of the Sabbath by Christ through His resurrection. Maybe their views stem from a misunderstanding of this concept?

They also believe that their ecclesiastical community is the Church that was founded by Christ at Pentecost. They believe they are the true religion. They believe in a lot of falsehoods. Don’t let it bother you if they also claim a Catholic Saint as one of their own. They’re misguided and they need our prayers.

This strikes me as odd, but it could be a good thing.
If Seventh Day Adventists are reading about the life of this Saint, maybe Saint Patrick will lead them home. :shamrock2:

I think that St Patrick converted the whole country of Ireland-not too many saints have done that. Besides everyone wants to be Irish on St Patricks Day.:kissme::irish3::irish1:
