Saint Andrew, pray for us.

(wasn’t named after a saint since my parents were Mormon, but Andrew’s one of my favorites, so there you go.)

St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us.

St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us.

St. Philomena the Wonderworker, pray for us.

St, Christina, pray for us! (Not my namesake but the Saint I chose at confirmation).

Oh Heavenly Father, you raised up St. Jason to be a companion of the apostle Paul and allowed him to preach the Gospel along with St. Sosipater. By your power he was able to convert seven thieves while in prison awaiting his martyrdom, grant that we may joyfully suffer our daily martyrdom for the faith and be a witness to those around us. We ask you this through Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with You and Holy Ghost, One God, world without end. Amen

V. Pray for us St. Jason

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

St. John Bosco, pray for us. (cuz he’s a fav of mine)

St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us. (another favorite)

St. Faustina, pray for us. (my confirmation saint)

I don’t suppose there’s a St. Nicole or a St. Holly?

Saint Faustina is my confirmation saint too!

St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
St. Genevieve, pray for us!

(Confirmation names… I wasn’t named after a saint.)

St. Cellach, pray for us.
(I was almost not allowed to use Cellach as my baptismal name in RCIA. I had to go out and prove Cellach was a saint.)

St Robert (of Molsme) pray for us.
St Victor, pray for us.
St John (Apostle and Evangelist), pray for us.
St Paul (Apostle) pray for us.
St Fermin (Firmin), pray for us.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. Amen

That includes my confirmtion name and surname.

Not being Catholic I don’t understand this. Could someone explain? Is every Catholic given a saint that prays for them? If you are to become a Catholic do you pick one or is one given to you?
Thank you for answering me,
mlz
