You may like this story OP. When my mother took me to have me baptized, the priest who was a “mean old Cajun priest” wouldn’t baptize me because she hadn’t chosen a “good, Christian name” for me. My name is Paige Kristin. She argued that Kristin is a derivation of Christian, and he said she should make it Christian, then. She wanted it to be a K name because I have an Aunt Kay, but she didn’t want my middle name to BE Kay. So she said “what about Katherine?” and he insisted it had to be Catherine. She finally left Father Mouton and took me to another parish to be baptized!

That being said, there are so many wonderful traditional Saint names (and many that sound awesome with traditional Cajun names) to go with. Grace is a beauty!

LOL! That sounds like one of those old Cajun priests! They can be stubborn in their own ways. Some times a really good thing I suppose.

Hi -
My dad was born on July 26 - so they chose that name for me (helped that they both really liked it too)- (I’m so glad they didn’t give me the name of Augustine - for my birthday name - August 28th although I do have a wonderful devotion to him - just wouldn’t want to be a girl with that name)-
I know a girl named Monica Augustina! Haha, just thought I’d share that.

I wish I had read all these posts before I had babies haha. Loving so many of the names you all have chosen. Hmm maybe some of my babies do have religious back ground without I knowing it, I know I have one Christan Elias. and my daughters middle name Mary. But there could be more religious back ground then I think to the other names, I am going to check 🙂
