I was watching a video of him, and I was surprised that he and his entire Order didn’t have the long hood that they are named after, but the regular one. Why is this?

The cowl of the Capuchins is longer than the Benedictine cowl. It’s called a capuchino, because if you lay it flat on a table, it’s shaped like a cone. The length is usually down the middle of the back or to the waist. That’s going to vary from province to province.

Oh, I see. The ones near me have their hood go all the way until the bottom of their spine, so I was confused when his didn’t even go down halfway. It’s probably the same length as regular hoods, actually.

You would be better of if you spent time studying Capuchin Franciscan spirituality than studying their habit. It’s actually very rich.
