A patron saint is a saint designated as a patron for a person or church etc. For example if your name is Charles, your patron saint is St. Charles. If your parish Church is St. Therese of Lisieux, The parish patron saint is St. Therese and so forth.Hi I was wondering what’s the difference between a patron saint and a regular saint ?

Nothing. A Saint is a Saint. A Patron saint is just a saint that is invoked for a particular cause or group hence the word “Patron” i.e. it is good and proper to invoke them first and foremost for a specific cause. It doesn’t mean anything deeper - which is to say, it doesn’t make them any better or special than saints with no patronage. Some of the designations are rather arbitrary; some are based on the life of the saint, related events in his/her life, etc.Hi I was wondering what’s the difference between a patron saint and a regular saint ?
