Saints and depression

I’m aware of two Orthodox saints who apparently suffered from clinical depression (or “involutional melancholia” as it was called once upon a time): St. Tikhon of Zadonsk and Hieromartyr Mitrophanes of China.

Does any know any more saints of any Church, Eastern or Western, who suffered clinical depression as well?

I am know that Blessed Theresa suffered a long and intense Dark Night of the Soul, and this may have a relationship with clinical depression. I’m not learned enough in mysticism to know.

I’m asking strictly about those who seem to have suffered from the physical ailment called depression.

I don’t think the ‘The Dark Night Of The Soul’ should be confused with clinical depression. As I understand it, the former is the loss of regular contact with Jesus and Mary, the latter a psychiatric illness.

That is to say, the saint previously was used to conversations or intimations from Heaven and then they are taken away, to put the saint through a trial.
