Thank you!!! 👍
I am truly thankful that you put this together! I’n wondering, can I copy info from this page? I put a private web site together for a small group of Catholics, and it would be great to update it with info about a St., and tying it to the Liturgical year is really great!

I went to church today… the first time in a while. I know, I’ve been way out of it, due to depression, sickness and whatever. But I’ve straightened some things up, and am trying to build my faith back up.
When I got home, I started reading more things, and found out that it was this feast day… at church they didn’t mention it : ( or, perhaps they mentioned it quickly and I missed it… it’s always so cold, and I’m freezing half of the time… I need to remember to bring a coat to church next time, even though it’s 80 degrees outside!
Anyways, I tried figuring out where it talks about the feast day in the Breviary, can’t find it. online somewhere it says that it talks about the archangels in the antiphons… couldn’t find it… frustrated… then I stumbled on this site - yea!

Thank you for putting this together years ago and keeping it up!!! I really, Really, needed this. My heart is so happy! My God send a special Blessing your way. 🙂

Dear GenosFutureWife, Welcome back home! 👍 I am very happy for you!!!

Yes, you certainly can copy from whatever I post here. We just have to mention the links (Daily Roman Missal, EWTN, CatholicCulture, etc) where the thought is coming from.

There’s another beautiful link regarding the Angels I was viewing a few seconds ago - from NCR. I will try to get the link and post it here for you.

Since you are in the process of building your faith back up, I invite you to visit our Petitions Group, and read the reflections there. I, myself, have gained a lot of insights on our faith from the comments found there. The link is: forums.catholic-questions.org/group.php?groupid=1397

God bless!

October 2 - The Holy Guardian Angels (Memorial):

Collect (Opening Prayer):
“O God, who in your unfathomable providence
are pleased to send your holy Angels to guard us,
hear our supplication as we cry to you,
that we may always be defended by their protection
and rejoice eternally in their company.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.”

Today’s Scripture readings and reflection:
ymlp232.net/archive_gbmbuqgjgu.php

“Scripture reveals many stories of angels who came to help God’s people. St. Peter was liberated from jail by an angel, and Our Lord said children’s angels behold his heavenly Father’s face constantly. Each person has his or her own guardian angel to protect and guide during this journey on earth.” (Daily Roman Missal, MTF.)

the flame of ardent charity

grant us that same active love,
so that, in responding to the needs of the world today,

Sharing this beautiful reflection on today’s Scripture Readings, from today’s Euchalette, p.4:

“WHERE IS GOD?”

"The apparent ‘absence’ of God has always been a severe test for all the great souls who have put their trust in Him. Sooner or later all will experience its torturing fits - God seems to ‘vanish’ or to become impotent right when His intervention seems needed most badly. The prophet Habakkuk experienced it (see Hab 1:2-3); so did Jeremiah (see Ps 22:2-3) and even Jesus Christ, at the height of His suffering on Calvary (see Mt 27:46).

All through the centuries, down to our very days, the ‘inaction’ of God has been felt bitterly and decried. In the torments of the tortures inflicted on innocent people (often because of their very allegiance to their faith); in the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps or the Stalinist ‘Gulags’; in the crying misery of the conglomeration of squatter shanties, full of filth, fumes, mud … without roads, electricity and medicare; in the mental hospitals, in the prostitution dens, in the nations or regions where people are just a ‘labor force’ exploited by the state or the local magnate …, one asks: ‘Where is God here?’ and 'Why does He not make His presence and justice felt?!”

No human being, with its limited intellectual and moral resources, can answer such questions with certainty and convincingly. Only God Himself can. He has an answer and will surely give it. But in His own time. (See Hab 2:3). For He has His own rhythm, His own ways, His own plans. And so many times, they are different from ours. (See Is 55:8-9.)” (p. 4, emphasis added.)
(Read on for continuation of thought.)
