Yes, satan does like to take pieces of truth and distorts them. God Bless
And who is on the receiving end of such distortions? Lost souls who don’t read the Bible at all or who couldn’t care less about God? No, Satan already has them where he wants them. He saves his best deceptions (distortion of the Truth) for those who are trying to follow Christ. That is why an infallable teaching Authority is so critical.

The devil also transfigures himself into an angel of light; not that he may reascend to where he was, for having made his heart hard as an anvil, he has henceforth a will that cannot repent; but in order that he may envelope those who are living an Angelic life in a mist of blindness, and a pestilent condition of unbelief.

“If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you have no life within you.” Your salvation will be judged based on whether you accepted or rejected Jesus. If you reject the Eucharist, you reject Christ.

“A man should examine himself first; only then should he eat of the bread and drink of the cup. He who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks a judgment on himself. That is why many among you are sick and infirm and why so many are dying.” (I Cor 11:28-30) Sounds serious to me, not like they’re eating simple bread and drinking simple wine.

Why are so many dying and became sick? The reason is sin. God doesn,t inflict us with sickness. We are not to trample the blood of Christ. We are to examine ourselves to make sure we are right with God before recieving communion. Jesus will not unite with sin. God Bless

That’s not what the Scripture says. Read the passages above. Paul says, “I received from the Lord what I handed on to you…” and he goes on to recount word for word the Last Supper, yet…he wasn’t at the Last Supper and he didn’t say, “I received from Peter or the Apostles what I handed on to you…” Thus, he received the Words of Consecration and the teaching of the Eucharist as direct revelation from Christ. He talks about this direct revelation in Gal 1:11-12…“the gospel I proclaimed to you is no mere human invention. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I schooled in it. It came by revelation from Jesus Christ.”

Paul spoke very directly. He did not speak figuratively. Thus, when he says people are sick and dying because they receive the Eucharist unworthily - either through unconfessed sin or by not recognizing the Eucharist for what It is - he means just that. Yes, sin is the cause, but it is not the sins committed prior to receiving the Eucharist, but the sin of sacrilege. Thus, it is better to avoid the Eucharist than to receive it without belief or in the state of sin. If it was simple bread and wine, there would be no sacrilege and no need for the warning.

Absolutely, those who knowingly reject Jesus, whether through rejection of His Body (the Church), His sacrifice for our sins, or the gift of Himself in the Eucharist are in grave danger. As I stated above, you cannot both accept Jesus into your heart and reject His Presence in the Eucharist.

PHEW!!! I was beginning to sweat. I do not reject His presence when recieving Holy Communion. 😉 God Bless

But look at the men who have those perverted notions about the grace of Jesus Christ…They will not admit the Eucharist is the self same body of our Savior Jesus Christ which suffered for our sins, and which the Father in His goodness afterwards raised up again.

:yup: That is why Scripture warns us of those who will “come along” and teach falsehood. Who came along?

Except he isn’t there except in your imagination if the person doing the consecrating does not have the sacerdotal faculties to make that miracle happen.

C’mon home, Spokes. You’re just one good confession away. We’re holding the door open for ya.

I certainly didn’t expect to make you sweat. I never say anything so profound as to make anyone sweat. 😃

Well now, that is very interesting. You stated earlier that He told you Himself that He wasn’t present in the Tabernacle. And, unless the Tabernacle was empty at the time you were praying 😉 (in which case the voice would have been correct), the Eucharist (Holy Communion) would have been there. I’m confused.

BTW - this has been a very enjoyable exchange, but I have to sign off soon and will have to continue tomorrow.

Blessings

That miracle is not based on what another does. It,s based on my faith. God Bless

Oooooooh boy. We could go on for hours on that one statement, but I really have to go. Suffice it to say that Christ’s presence or absence is not so fragile as to be dependent upon the imperfect faith of one of His creatures. He’s either present in Holy Communion or He isn’t - that is an objective truth. Our faith has nothing to do with it.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make the light of His Face shine upon you and remain with you forever. You are precious to God and, as such, I will pray sincerely for God’s perfect Will in your life, whatever that may be.

Spokes, B’loved. Were you very young when you left the Church? (Don’t answer if you feel it falls in the proscribed “personal information” category listed in the forum rules.)
