Does the intercessions of the saints change God’s plan for men?
 
Not at all. When we pray, we should not try to “change God’s mind.” God is unchangeable. It is far better to pray that our minds be conformed to God’s: “Thy will be done,” not “my will be done.” This is how Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. The cup (suffering) did not pass away, but the second part of Jesus’ prayer — “not My will, but Thine be done” — was certainly answered.

The saints know this. When we ask their intercession, they will pray that God will do what He knows is best for us.
 
We ask the Saints to intercede because Christ asked us to - to pray for each other. We are all the Body of Christ…
 
I do agree. I think it’s more of we pray so that we could change ourselves and do God’s will for us.

However, how should I explain it to a ministry leader who believe that when we pray to the Saints they will help us to change God’s will? :confused:

First, I would make sure that I really understood what this ministry leader was trying to say. (There are people like myself 😃 who aren’t always very good at expressing themselves).

Now, if that is truly what they believe, then I would charitably tell them to check their catechism.
V. GOD CARRIES OUT HIS PLAN: DIVINE PROVIDENCE
303 The witness of Scripture is unanimous that the solicitude of divine providence is concrete and immediate; God cares for all, from the least things to the great events of the world and its history. The sacred books powerfully affirm God’s absolute sovereignty over the course of events: "Our God is in the heavens; he does whatever he pleases."162 And so it is with Christ, “who opens and no one shall shut, who shuts and no one opens”.163 As the book of Proverbs states: "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will be established."164

Then explain the purpose of interession.

This is correct.

The will of the God Almighty is perfect and does not need to change. Humans are imperfect and are bound by limited understanding and knowledge; we are only right when we join our will to God’s most perfect will.

The Saints pray for us so that Christ has mercy on our souls and they will pray for us so that our will is more perfectly conformed to the divine will. The Saints will also pray that we can bear our crosses.
