I wouldn’t recognize Archie if I saw him, but Eli, uh yeah! Love how the speed limit there is 18 MPH through campus

As I know a Katrina, it is my understanding that this name comes from Dutch or Greek and means pure.

One of the old Catholic dictionaries (I think it was Attwater’s) cited a Hispanic child who was named Circumcision 🤣
Thanks for helping me out. My copy of Attwater’s is packed away, with scores of other books, in a far nether corner of my storage closet, behind loads of other stuff. Things like that happen when you have kids, and have to make room for all of their kiddy accoutrements — Legos, Skylanders figurines, Nerf guns, and so forth. Our house isn’t big enough to turn around in as it is.
Although there is the Spanish name “Concepcion” referring to the Immaculate Conception. And names like Assumpta which refer to the Assumption. Is it possible that the name “Circumcision” would have referred to the circumcision of Our Lord?

Yes, I suppose it must have been. Quite likely the boy was either born or baptized on January 1, the Feast of the Circumcision.
