Saints preserve us

There was a gentleman who was questioning me on the ability of the Saints in heaven to intercede for us. Stateing Lazerous and the Richman. Lazerous being in heaven and the Richman and The Richman asked if Aberham could send someone to tell his reletives so they would go to the straight and narrow. What should I say in regards to this? Thanks and God bless.

Did you ever notice that this is the only parable Jesus gave that actually used somebody’s name?

Did you ever notice that the person Jesus raised from the dead was named Lazarus?

Could Jesus have done this so that Lazarus could warn some of his friends?

The story of the rich man and Lazarus shows at least that those in the afterlife are conscious, concerned about those still living, and desire and attempt to intercede for them. Since the rich man’s request of Abraham was not granted, it is unclear from this story whether their intercession is effective.

For an example of an effective intercession by someone in the afterlife, consider Elisha. In 2 Kings 13:21 a dead man is revived through contact with the bones of Elisha. Probably referring in part to this event, Sirach 48:12-16 describes Elisha as having performed marvelous deeds after his death.

the saints in heaven can bring our prayers to God…

Rev. 5:8
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

Rev. 8:3-4
3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.
