I know many of us have a favourite saint, but is it possible to have a saint who just seems to work with you really well? I don’t have a devotion to st anthony, but on all but one occasion he has helped me find missing things when I’ve asked? Today was a doozy - I lost the key to a filing cabinet - we always put it in the same place and it was gone. I had locked the cabinet but key vanished. Not in usual place. I prayed. Then today my other colleague found a spare key that she’s had for ten years in her pencil case for that cabinet. Wow! Is he looking out for me ? What do I do now ?

It’s nice that you have a spare key, but I would be concerned about why the original key disappeared. If it goes to that filing cabinet, could someone be interested in getting into it without your knowledge?

It might be smart to investigate.

Possibly but there is nothing confidential or valuable in there. We will know if someone took it and has used it because we will see if supplies go missing.

My wife converted to Catholicism and was welcomed into the church on the Feast of St. Anthony who I had chosen as my patron at my confirmation. My wife chose St Agnes as her patron and our daughter was born on the Feast of the Commemoration of St. Agnes. I would say both those saints have very much interceded for us.

Seems like St Joseph and St Benedict Joseph Labre hear my prayers. And of course Mary.

I have a strong devotion to Our Lady, St. Cecilia. and Bl. Margaret Castello. They’re my favourite saints but St. Cecilia seems to touch my heart a lot.

A story: There was a day in November that, in particular, that was causing me to think a lot about St. Cecilia. I was just thinking a lot about her- more than usual. Then, my mom told me that it was my saint’s feast day. It was marvelous on how I was just thinking about her so much on that day.

Last year, at my Mum’s suggestion, I used Jennifer Fulwiler’s Random Saint Generator to find a saint patron for 2019. I got St Teresa of Ávila, I had never even heard of her!!! 2019 was also the year God knocked down some big walls I’d built up to keep Him out, and as soon as I let Him in, St Teresa started following me around 😃

I walked into a charity shop, and in their tiny religion section, I found a 3 volume set of her complete writings. her quotes kept popping up everywhere, it turned out in my room at my grandparents’ house, there had been a statue of her all those years and I’d never asked who she was! When I told my Grandfather why I was getting emotional doing the hoovering, he gave me the statue. Her voice shaped so many feelings I’d felt in my own walk with God. When I asked her to look after my rededication to the Church, she just hasn’t stopped! I keep getting shoved deeper and deeper!!! I have a great love for her.

Just briefly, I want to mention that I tend to go to St Anthony to pray for people who are lost, who have strayed or lost their way or are on downward spirals, and many times his intercession has worked wonders for my friends.

I read an article about a woman who was possessed and she said during the exorcism when the priest was praying the litany of the saints that St Gemma Galgani appeared and said she wanted to be friends with her.

I wonder whether we find saints that we like or whether they find us?

Woww!!! St Gemma Galgani is my Holy Communion Saint!!!🙌😆 I love St Gemma she has always been with me and helped me a lot, I really admire her pure love for Jesus, just so strong it literally made her heart become enlarged

St. Anthony, St. Joseph of Cupertino and St. Raphael

I was born in a place named after St Rose.
My daughter was born on her feast day.
After retirement, I moved and my new parish is named St Rose.

Along with Mother Mary, I feel a special closeness to Sts. Mary Magdalene, Anthony, and Teresa. And whatever saints that struggled with sexual promiscuity and turned to chastity, for I’m sure there are many.

St Benedict Joseph Labre is a patron saint of the homeless. He spent a lot of time homeless and possibly suffering from mental disturbances.

The idea of a saint “working for me” does not feel right. There are saints whose example helps me more than others, some I cannot relate to at all. Saints intercede for me. As with every prayer, it is always answered. Sometimes I do not like the answer 🙂
