Are there any saints with SSA who powered through it with God’s Grace? I am wondering because I suffer SSA and am trying to choose a Confirmation Saint.
If he wants a saint who seems to have struggled with SSA, he can pick one. It’s not somehow wrong to suggest that some past saints probably struggled with this sort of temptation. You don’t need a saint with ssa, there are many saints who fought chastity.
I never said it was. I myself have been looking for a married male saint who struggled with chastity but cannot find one so I found some women who were never married but have chastity as their patronage. It’s not somehow wrong to suggest that some past saints probably struggled with this sort of temptation.
Thanks. If I run across any married male saints who struggled with chastity, I’ll let you know.
May God bless you as you approach your Confirmation!I will boast about such a man, but I will not boast about myself, except in my weaknesses. Even if I wanted to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will credit me with more than he sees in me or hears from me, or because of these surpassingly great revelations.
So to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me,
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. That is why, for the sake of Christ, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
No one is in a position to make that kind of statement.Almost certainly, John Henry Newman. But he was chaste.
I don’t think they were fighting SSA. It’s my understanding they were being essentially groomed and raped by the King.Charles Lwanga and the Ugandan martyrs.
