Can the Catholic Church make Ruth Gram wife of Billy a saint ?
WOW. I never knew that! Not only must the person be fully united to the Church, he or she is canonized by the particular ritual Church she or he belonged to. That means that **Rome doesn’t even canonize Byzantine ****Catholics **who are fully united with them. The Byzantine Catholic Church would do so in such a situation.
However, there are a few who have been canonized by the Orthodox after the schism who are on the festal calendars of some of the Catholic Churches.
As the previous person said, Rome would not pronounce a non-Catholic as being a saint, no matter how holy. We ask God to have mercy on her and to accept her into His kingdom, just as we do with the overwhelming majority of holy and pious men and women of all faiths who pass away, including our own.
