Any Protetant who believes believes salvation can be lost due to apostasy will explicitly tell you they don’t believe in the OSAS doctrine.🙂

God Bless,

True … for that doctrine so defined as ‘not accepting apostasy’.

However, ask them if they expect apostasy will ever happen to them. They believe it to be a ‘seldom exercised’ option, by the elect in Christ.

Thus, in a personal sense … they generally believe ‘salvation assurance’ should/can be our reality.

They will say that apostasy can never be final in the elect, otherwise they would lose their salvation. At least that’s what a Calvinist would say. Now, there are those who believe in OSAS and claim that a true Christian can become and die an atheist, and he still will be saved. That’s the most antinomian version of OSAS. But no OSAS proponent who rejects antinomianism will claim that a true believer will apostasize, as moondweller has clearly explained/

God Bless,
Michael
