Salvation for teens

Ok, so I have a question at what age do you think that you are in charge of your salvation. I heard that little kids always go Heaven because they don’t really understand the repercussions of not going to the right door.
So what is your opinion?

When they have the use of reason, they are responsible for their salvation. In the Western Church, children are presumed to have the use of reason at seven years of age. Mental retardation and such can prevent someone from ever attaining the use of reason.

Does that mean 7 through 12 year olds can go to purgatory and even hell? :confused:

Anyone who has sinned can go to purgatory before heaven. Anyone who has attained the use of reason can go to hell regardless of age.

Now a days, a lot of people follow what society says about children. They are young and sweet, how could a merciful God allow them to go to hell? God is merciful AND just. God doesn’t change. He is the same God today as he was 5,000 years ago. He gave man freewill. Children can go to hell. 🙂
