Hello Bretherens,

Have protestants ever viewed Salvation History and Covenant Theology in this understanding?

The Lord’s 7 Covenants with mankind:
  1. Adam with his spouse Eve-2 poeple
  2. Noah and his household-8 poeple
  3. Abraham and his whole tribe- 12 tribes
  4. Moses and his nation
  5. David and his kingdom
  6. Jesus and his Universal kingdom-all nations (The Church)
  7. Jesus’ second coming -the glorified Church.
“ALL nations” in Latin is "Universi’
“Universi’” in Greek is “Katholicos”

This is where St.Ignatius came up with the word “Catholic” in A.D. 110. Rome was the capital of the Roman Empire at the time of Christ and when Constantine declared “Christianity” the official religion of the Roman Empire in A.D. 312, this is where The Roman Catholic Church became the Church of Christanity. Do you also know the first visible Church built by Constantine was in A.D. 324 and it is called St.John Lateran which is the official Church of the Pope that still stands today?

I like your line of thinking, but to clear up a couple of points;

Catholic comes from the Greek “Kata” meaning “from” and “Holos” meaning “the whole”. So, “Catholic” referred directly to what “The Church” believed “according to the whole”. It can also refer, colloquially, to “universal”.

Secondly, Constantine didn’t make Christianity the official religion. He merely discontinued the practice of outlawing it - he made it legal to be a Christian. He did ask to be baptized on his deathbed, “In case those Christians are right”.

You are correct that Katholicos means “the whole” interchangeably with “Universal” but the point I am trying to make is Jesus came to expand each covenant and eventually make it universal to “all nations”, to make it “Katholicos”. The 12 tribes were dispersed so he used 12 apostles to make his kingdom “Katholicos” and not Lutheran, Anglican, Presbytrian,etc. If we divide his kingdom (The Church) we divide it as it was at his Advent. In other words we have repeated exactly what he came to restore. This outline is to attempt to dissolve the mistake Israel (Northern tribe) did with Judah(Southern tribe). This was suppose to clarify the meaning of the Church at Nicea in A.D. 325 "One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church and not churches. We can not divide Christ! this is what it meant to “Cast lots for his tunic” so it would not be torn. “Schism” in Greek means “to tear or shread”. I hope this thread helps understanding his “Covenant” in Salvation History.

Hi! Webmaster,

Please let me have information on links/websites from where I can source for material(notes & power point presentation) on Fall & Salvation History. I need to compile information for a presentation to 40 RCIA Inquirers. Any help from you will be much appreciated.
