In “Salvation is from the Jews,” Jesus meant to that Samaritan woman much more than just what most of us understand that he meant himself. He didn’t. He meant the whole nation, the Jewish People. How’s that?

Please, don’t get startled with the following statement, because I’ll
explain. If Israel existed before the Flood, this would not have
happened. Do you know why the Flood happened? Because "The Lord saw how great was man’s wickedness on earth, and how no desire that his heart conceived was ever anything but evil. (Gen. 5:5)

After the Flood, God promised Noah that "Never again He would doom the earth because of man. (Gen. 8:21) What about if man became wicked again? How would God make good on His promise to Noah?

It happens that Israel was on the make with the rise of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Israel would be the pledge to guarantee God’s promise to Noah that the world would be saved of another similar catastrophe.

I believe that’s what Jesus had in mind when he told that Samaritan woman that salvation is from the Jews. That’s what keeps the world going. And that’s how Salvation is from the Jews.

As far as it goes, Christians believe that, too. The Covenant with Abraham promised that his seed would be a blessing for the world.

As for the Samaritan woman, the location is crucial. Samaria is where 10 tribes went after their quarrel with Rehoboam, leaving only the tribes of Benjamin and Judah centered in Jerusalem. “Israel” in the north [Samaria] became completely intermixed with the foreign kingdoms that had ruled the area. Jews wouldn’t even cross the territory if they could avoid it. “Israel” had set up their own altars as a substitute for the Temple, and had a syncretized religion that retained Jewish elements. When Jesus refers to salvation being from “the Jews” He is referring no only to Abraham but also specifically to Judah.

Are you kidding! This trend of salvation being from the Jews according to my thread above is anathema to Christians. It’s even dangerous that I should promote it.

Israel in the North did not become intermixed with no foreign kingdoms, all the time that they were there. The intermixing occurred when they were transferred by Assyria in a exchange with Gentiles.

Those Gentiles brought over in the exchange of populations became eventually the Samaritans. When the Jews returned from exile in Babylon and took over all the Galilee, the Samaritans were forced to segregate. It was then that a racial barrier was built between the Jews and Samaritans. And mind you, Jesus did nothing to demolish it. He rather added some blocks into it.

Ben: 🙂

Have you ever read a History of the Jews? There is a good one by Paul Johnson, a Christian man. If you dare to use part of your time to read that book, you will come to the conclusion that I am not exaggerating after all.

Jharek, if it were not for us the Jews, the world would still be in the cave worshipping the stone and the fire; or even a block of wood in the form of a demon. I mean, you would not know the meaning of the word Monotheism. If it were not for us the Jews, people would still be dying with many more incurable diseases.

There are only 14 million of us in this world living with another six or more billion people. How do you explain that 50 percent of all Nobel prizes go to the Jews? Visit any hospital and count the Jewish Doctors. And mind you people prefer them because they are the best. Visit Universities anywhere. If Jews are not the Professors in the majority, I’ll be surprised. In civilized Countries, I mean.

As far as charity is concerned, visit public places anywhere. If Jews are not the most famous givers, I’ll be disappointed. And before I forget, check the Arts especially Music. You won’t find too many genius of the size of a Mozart, who was considered a “son of God” even by non-Jews.

Well, if I keept adding to the list, I’ll run out of list to add. Besides, I am sure you must have got the idea of what I mean by now.

Ben: 👍

Okay Jharek, you have persuaded me with your remarks. No more about the subject. I retract. Perhaps the Psychology of my struggle is an effort to combat Antisemitism by
overemphasizing the Jewish worth. But you have just showed me that’s not a good way to pave this road. Thanks.

Ben: 😊

Salvation truly is from the Jews. It’s really pretty simple when you think about it. Jesus IS our Salvation and He was born from a long line of Jews.😃

You have all the right in the world to think and believe as you please. And so does everyone else, including myself. Therefore, in my opinion, when Jesus said that salvation is from the Jews, he meant collectively and not on an individual basis.

Of course you can believe whatever want with the caveat being that the truth is not subject to any one persons belief.

Peace!

The seed of Abraham, which would serve as a blessing for the world is exactly the reason the world keeps going. Because that

That is a very Christian understanding.

I recommend:

Salvation Is from the Jews: The Role of Judaism in Salvation History (Paperback)
by Roy H. Schoeman

Product Description
The book traces the role of Judaism and the Jewish people in God’s plan for the salvation of mankind, from Abraham through the Second Coming, as revealed by the Catholic faith and by a thoughtful examination of history. It will give Christians a deeper understanding of Judaism, both as a religion in itself and as a central component of Christian salvation.
To Jews it reveals the incomprehensible importance, nobility and glory that Judaism most truly has. It examines the unique and central role Judaism plays in the destiny of the world. It documents that throughout history attacks on Jews and Judaism have been rooted not in Christianity, but in the most anti-Christian of forces.

Areas addressed include: the Messianic prophecies in Jewish scripture; the anti-Christian roots of Nazi anti-Semitism; the links between Nazism and Arab anti-Semitism; the theological insights of major Jewish converts; and the role of the Jews in the Second Coming.

From the Publisher
Roy Schoeman grew up studying Judaism under the most prominent Rabbis in American Judaism. After receiving a B.S. from M.I.T. and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, he taught at Harvard. His conversion to Catholicism led to a dramatic refocus of his activities.

Well, This comes as a big surprise to me, what is your source for saying Mozart was a Jew?

Far as I have been able to research, Mozart was raised Catholic. However, that said, he was also a Master Mason with the Freemasons, so where he stood with the church later in life is a little blurred given the church’s view on Freemasonry.

If you mean originated from the Jews, I would accept that. If you said that salvation was from Jesus who was a Jew, I can also accept that.

Do you believe that the Samaritan is the Lost Tribe of Israel?

BTW, regardless of any discussion, is there any tribe or group of people you called as Samaritan today? Just asking.

No Swariffin, I do not. The Samaritans never had anything to do with the lost Tribes. They did learn a lot from the Jews, so much so as to develop a form of beliefs very similar in some parthern but they remain a Faith apart.

Gosh! They have robbed us of Jesus, now, they want to rob us of Mozart. Pretty soon even Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Moses were all Catholics.

Although off topic, isn’t Mozart Catholic? In fact I visited a couple of websites stating this. I know I wasn’t wrong in what I read.

Oh! No doubt. We have produced a few figures who have culturally passed to belong to the world at large. Einstein is one of them, unless the Catholic Church has already baptized him as a Catholic. Another one is Sigmund Freud. Was he also a Catholic? Carl Max is another. I don’t even know if these people are still Jewish. When someone is a genius, usually their Jewishness is promptly denied.
