I know that God was first introduced to the Jewish people and they are still the chosen people. But Christians are saved by believe in Christ.what is meant by salvation is from the Jews?Is it because Jesus was Jewish and therefore saved by Jews?
Friend Jesus is the Savior of the Jews and everyone else. He [Jesus] saves them, not the reverse.

It is because Christ is Jewish as were most of the Apostles and the Church was founed by and on Jews that this statement is true,

The Jewish** Nation **denied Christ and lost this position to the “gentiles” who are Covered under the New Covenant in Christ Blood. They no-longer are “the chosen people.”

**Heb.8: 8 **"For he finds fault with them when he says: "The days will come, says the Lord,
when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;

****13 "In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away."

Heb.9: 15
“Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred which redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant”

Salvation comes from the Messiah who was from the line if David, who belonged to the tribe of Judah.

I am somewhat surprised that no one has mentioned Isaiah 2:2-4 in this connection.

ESV: Isaiah Chapter 2

[2] It shall come to pass in the latter days
that the mountain of the house of the LORD
shall be established as the highest of the mountains,
and shall be lifted up above the hills;
and all the nations shall flow to it,
[3] and many peoples shall come, and say:
Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths.
For out of Zion shall go the law,
and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
[4] He shall judge between the nations,
and shall decide disputes for many peoples;
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.

It is also true that at the destruction of the Temple around AD 70 there were two Jewish sects remaining, the Rabbinic sect and this Christian sect both essentially Jewish in nature. So the Church coming out of this community seems to verify (if one holds to the saving nature of The Christ) that salvation does indeed come from the Jews.

“For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment. What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him? If a brother or sister is ill-clad and in lack of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what does it profit? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. But some one will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe – and shudder. Do you want to be shown, you shallow man, that faith apart from works is barren? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by works, and the scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness”; and he was called the friend of God. ***You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead.” ***

AND EVEN this is not the complete list…

“Salvation is from the Jews” means just that. Salvation comes to us from a particular people called “Jews,” a people the Scriptures reveal to be of the tribe of Judah, one of the 12 tribes/children of Israel whose progenitor is Abraham.

God made a promise to Abraham [then called Abram] that, “…in thee shall all nations of the earth be blessed” (Gen. 12:3) – a promise of grace, or spiritual salvation. This same promise is repeated in Genesis 22:18: “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed” – the “seed” referring to the “one seed” Christ, as explained in Galatians 3:8, 16.

The promise was re-promised to Abraham’s son, Isaac (Gen. 26:4), then to Isaac’s son, Jacob whom God renamed Israel. Israel had 12 sons and among them was Judah, the father of all Jews. To him was the promise of grace/spiritual salvation passed on: “The sceptre (kingly office culminating in Christ, and involves grace to all) shall not depart from Judah… until Shiloh (the Messiah, Christ) come…” (Gen. 49:10).

Indeed “Salvation,” as Christ said, “is of the Jews.” The promise of salvation was handed down to the Jews through their father, Judah. “The gospel of Christ,” Paul wrote,” is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Rom. 1:16).

Paul does not mince words in letting us know that without God’s promise to Abraham [handed down to his children through Israel], no Gentile has hope of salvation. He says, “Wherefore remember, that ye being in times past Gentiles in the flesh… that at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world” (Eph. 2:11-12).

Because of one man [Abraham], by way of God’s promises to him, Gentiles can have the hope to be saved. Abraham, then, is rightly called the father of all the faithful. “Therefore it is of faith so that it might be according to grace; for the promise to be made sure to all the seed, not only to that which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all” (Rom. 4:16).

God’s promises to Abraham are for his children only, “Who are Israelites; to whom belong the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises” (Rom. 9:4). Gentiles have to be “graffed in among them (the children of promise), and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree” (Rom. 11:17). In other words, Gentiles have to become spiritual Jews [through faith in Christ- Eph. 2:13]] to be part of the “covenants of promise” and so be partakers of the promises in those covenants. This is the reason why Paul also said that God “will give glory, honor and peace to every man who works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Rom. 2:10).

The promise of salvation comes to us from the Jews – from God’s promise of grace to their father Abraham. That is the meaning of Christ’s statement “Salvation is of the Jews.”

Allow me my friend to share what it actually means.

The promises made by yahweh to Abraham was the beggining of the WORLDS salvation history. Even in the quotes you selected “all of the nations”, meaning everyone, everywhere has the POTENTIAL to be included.

Consider that the OT points to the NT which in turn completes and perfects the OT, which was the Misson given to Christ by “The Father.”

Mt. 26, Mk. 14, Lk. 22, Paul 1st. Cor. 11 ALL speak about a NEW COVENANT in Christ Blood.

**Jer. 31:33 ** “ But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

1 Cor. 11: 23 “For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for * you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”

Heb. 8: 6 “But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry which is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion for a second.

**Rom. 7: 6 ** “But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.”

**Heb. 8: 13 **“ In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.”

Christ came. died and arose again to OFFER the opportunity for everyone to freely choose to Know, Love, Serve, Obey and COOPERATE with ALL of the conditions Christ TAUGHT as required for our POSSIBLE salvation.

Acts.11: 1 "Now the apostles and the brethren who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 18 **When they heard this they were silenced. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance unto life.” **

WHAT THE VERSE IN QUESTION ACTUALLY MEANS REFERS NOT TO “JEWS” BUT TO GOD HIMSELF [and how Yahweh revealed Himself and the One Faith ,set of beliefs with ONLY One God to the Jewwish nation.]" FROM WHOM ALL SALVATION MUST AND DOES FLOW. It is a petition by Christ to NOT ignore OT Teachings, because they LEAD the way;… They LEAD to Christ Himself. 👍

You are right. In the promise God made to Abraham the intent was for everyone to be included – EVENTUALLY.

The point I was trying to make was that it was from that promise to Abraham and his descendants that everyone now has the potential to be saved. Without that one promise, no Saviour would have come and Gentiles would have no hope of salvation.
Consider that the OT points to the NT which in turn completes and perfects the OT, which was the Misson given to Christ by “The Father.”

Notice it says the new covenant will be made “with the house of Israel” - the same people God made His covenant with originally. God will put His Law “within them” - the children of Israel. He will write it “upon THEIR hearts” - the same children of Israel; and will be “THEIR God” - referring to the same people, not Gentiles; and “THEY” - not any other group of people - “shall be my [God’s] people.”
And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance unto life.” **
Friend, I never said Gentiles cannot be granted salvation. Here is what I wrote:
God’s promise to Abraham were for him and his children only, “Who are Israelites; to whom belong the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and THE PROMISES” (Rom. 9:4). Gentiles have to be “graffed in among them (the children of promise), and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree” (Rom. 11:17). It is interesting to note that in the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, Lazarus, at the time of his salvation, was pictured as being with Abraham – in his loving embrace. But why Abraham? Precisely, because salvation came to Lazarus by way of God’s promises to him. Abraham, according to the Scriptures, is “the father of us all” both Jews and Gentiles.

If the verse in question does not refer to the Jewish people but to Christ, who is the “Jew” that is being referred to in the following verses?

“But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile” (Roma. 2:10).

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Rom. 1:16).

Peace.

onlyvoice; You are right. In the promise God made to Abraham the intent was for everyone to be included – EVENTUALLY
No my friend actually not. “All” are redeemed BUT only those participating fully the PLAN Christ taught: Including Baptism [Jn. 3:5], Faith [Rom. 1:17] Obey ALL of the Commandments [Mt. 19:17], Works of Charity [James 2], and dying w/o unconfessed and unforgiving Mortal sin [Jn. 20:15-19]
The point I was trying to make was that it was from that promise to Abraham and his descendants that everyone now has the potential to be saved. Without that one promise, no Saviour would have come and Gentiles would have no hope of salvation.
Your CLOSE on this one:thumbsup:. But with God time is ONLY Present. Thus an all-knowing God knew His Plan for our POSSIBLE salvation from all time. And God knew it would include the possibility of “All.”

Notice it says the new covenant will be made “with the house of Israel” - the same people God made His covenant with originally.

Jesus was ONLY quoting: ** Jer. 31:33 ** “ But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

“Israel” is a metaphor for God’s NEW Chosen people; Today’s Catholic Church, from whom ALL salvations flows THROUGH. The Old Covenant is replaced by the New Covenant In Christ Blood: Catholic Holy Communion.
Friend, I never said Gentiles cannot be granted salvation. Here is what I wrote:
It would seem that I was unclear to you on what I was saying. Salvation is VERY Conditional not on who we are, BUT on our lives choices and fulfilling all of God’s requirements for our salvation.
If the verse in question does not refer to the Jewish people but to Christ, who is the “Jew” that is being referred to in the following verses?
“But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that works good, [same as James 2] to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile” (Roma. 2:10). … “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Rom. 1:16).
From all time YAHWEH had for reasons ONLY God knows, selected the Israelite Nation to be His Favorite; His People. BUT time and time they disappointed God and failed Him. The “Final straw” was for the NATION of Israel denying the time of Christ visitation on earth. This the NEED for a New and everlasting Covenant.

**Luke 19: 41-44 **“And when he drew near and saw the city he wept over it, [Jerusalem] saying, “Would that even today you knew the things that make for peace! But now they are hid from your eyes. For the days shall come upon you, when your enemies will cast up a bank about you and surround you, and hem you in on every side, [destruction of Jerusalem in 70A.D.] and dash you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

Even Paul went to the Jews First:

Acts 14: 46 “And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, "It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you. Since you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. … Acts 9: 15 “But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel”…

Eph. 4: 1-7 “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all lowliness and meekness, with patience, forbearing one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body WHICH MEANS ONE CHURCH] and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, one Lord, one faith, [Meaning only One set of beliefs] one baptism, one God and Father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

Eph. 2: 18-22 “ for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord;

John.10: 16 “And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd”

God Bless,
Pat

Friend, you need to stop this practice of reading something into what I wrote which is not there. Examine what I said: “In the promise God made to Abraham the intent was for everyone to be saved – eventually.” Full stop.
Your CLOSE on this one:thumbsup:. But with God time is ONLY Present. Thus an all-knowing God knew His Plan for our POSSIBLE salvation from all time. And God knew it would include the possibility of “All.”
Of course. Did I say anything to the contrary?
Jesus was ONLY quoting: ** Jer. 31:33 ** “ But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
Didn’t you notice I was commenting on that verse itself (Jer. 31:33) and not on a quote from Jesus? And where in the NT did Jesus quote Jer. 31:33?
“Israel” is a metaphor for God’s NEW Chosen people; Today’s Catholic Church, from whom ALL salvations flows THROUGH. The Old Covenant is replaced by the New Covenant In Christ Blood: Catholic Holy Communion.
We would have to agree to disagree on that.
It would seem that I was unclear to you on what I was saying. Salvation is VERY Conditional not on who we are, BUT on our lives choices and fulfilling all of God’s requirements for our salvation.
I got your point. Unfortunately, you never got mine. Anyway, let’s just leave it at that.
My friend, God has no favourite. It is written: “God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34). The reason why God selected the nation Israel to be His peculiar people started with Abraham and the promises God made to him.

“Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws” (Gen. 26:5), so God made this promise to Abraham: “I will establish my covenant between me and thee AND THY SEED AFTER THEE in their generations for an EVERLASTING COVENANT, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee” (Gen. 17:7).
So, why was it necessary that “the word of God should be spoken first” to the Jews?

We also find this in Acts 10:36-37: “The word which God SENT unto the children of Israel…” Here, we see that the New Covenant message, of which Christ was the Divine Messenger, was originally sent to the children of Israel. Why Israel FIRST, and Gentiles only years later?

By the way, you never answered my question.

Blessings,

=onlyvoice;8092196]Friend, you need to stop this practice of reading something into what I wrote which is not there. Examine what I said: “In the promise God made to Abraham the intent was for everyone to be saved – eventually.” Full stop.
How my friend is “Everyone” going to be saved? And by “everyone” do you actually mean “everyone?” Past, present and future?
My friend, God has no favourite. It is written: “God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34). The reason why God selected the nation Israel to be His peculiar people started with Abraham and the promises God made to him.
ACTS 10-34 DR Catholic Bible:
34 "And Peter opening his mouth, said: in very deed I perceive that God is not a respecter of persons. " NEW KING JAMES BIBLE "34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.”

Neither of these seem to relay the mssage you quote? The REAST of the story is that a Romona Centurion has been granted the POSSIBILITY of salvation and Peter makes the comment that MEANS God if the God of ALL NOT ONLY the Jews.

Exod.3: 6 "And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. [14] God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.'" [15] God also said to Moses, "Say this to the people of Israel, The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you’: this is my name for ever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations”

Yes it started with Noah actually then Abraham. But … Isa.43: 20 "The wild beasts will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches; for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to **my chosen people, **… Exod.3:7 "Then the LORD said, "I have seen the affliction of **my people **who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; I know their sufferings, … Perhpas its my age:D But how they are not favorite remains a Mystery to me.🤷
“Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws” (Gen. 26:5), so God made this promise to Abraham: “I will establish my covenant between me and thee AND THY SEED AFTER THEE in their generations for an EVERLASTING COVENANT, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee” (Gen. 17:7).
YEA! We agree:thumbsup: ALL Most… Covenants are not too dissimilar to contracts: Something is promised based on fulfilled conditions. When [if] the conditions are NOT kept’ then the contract’covenant is voided [Even if it were[COLOR=“red”] Gods DESIRE for it to be eternal]. Heb.8: [8, 13 "For he finds fault with them when he says: "The days will come, says the Lord when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;[COLOR=“red”] In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Jews first as a fulling [at least the attempt to] of the Covenant with Abraham. BUT as I recall the Covenant was conditional on OBEDIENCE… So now I have answered your question:)

God Bless you,
Pat

Hebrews 8 is speaking about the Mosaic covenant being obsolete and close to disappearing. Jesus fulfilled it in the New Covenant making it complete and transforming it. The sacrificial laws expired with the sacrifice of Christ (and vanished with the Temple’s destruction) and the Ten Commandments were retained and refined (Mt 5). Jesus also fulfilled the Abrahamic Covenant.
