In light of a thread that just got locked (I’m glad), I wanted to recommend Roy Schoeman’s book from Ignatius Press, “Salvation is From the Jews.” It is an excellent exploration of the role that Judaism plays in salvation history, from Old Testament times to the present–and anticipating what it might mean in the future. Schoeman had a remarkable conversion to Catholicism.
I see that there were a number of threads on this book, but not for some years now. I had read it when it first came out, and I just read it again and found many new insights. Highly recommended.

It really is “from the Jews”. Mary and Joseph were Jews, and Jesus spoke to Jews in parables; subjects they probably knew about- farmers and seed; the camel and the “eye of the needle”-which was a real place then i think; the tenants and fair wages-reporting unfair practices to the master of the field, etc.

I assume it means Jews like before Christianity and not Jews of the modern era?
