Countless words have been spoken; as in the sands of the seashore. Infinite words have been written; vast as the stars of the universe. The earth is filled with an endless number of books and publications; some written by the greatest intellectual minds that have ever lived upon the face of the earth, others written by the most simple and humble that have graced humanity. With this thought in mind however, there are but three words that will stand the test of time. Three words, that at the moment they were uttered, changed mankind for ever. Never again will these three words need to be spoken. They have brought to completion that which is the greatest mystery of mankind; the mercy of our Creator and our eternal salvation. So great were these words, that they could only be proclaimed by the One; the son of God our Lord and Savior, “Jesus” the Christ. Humanity has been redeemed; sin and death have been conquered for all of eternity; the power of the evil one destroyed; the gates of heaven opened as wide as his arms were outstretched and he uttered these words, “It Is Finished.” Amen!
Hi
Nice post.
Jesus redeemed us and gave us “hope” of eternal life. Now we must fulfill His Father’s Will in order to actually inherit this “eternal life” which is His promise to those who love Him. We love Him by obeying His commandments and by doing good works and this fulfills His Will for us. Love fulfills the Royal Law. (James 2:8)
Titus 1:2 “in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,”
Titus 3:7 “that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” (See also Acts 26:6-8)
1 John 2:24-25 “Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning.
If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.”
We are promised eternal life
if we continue to abide in Christ until our deaths. (Mark 13:13)
Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
James 1:12 “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for
when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
The Royal Law:
Luke 10:25-28 "25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying,
“Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?” 27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’” 28 And He said to him, “
You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
We must fulfill this Royal Law of love in order to inherit eternal life. By fulfilling this law of love until we die, we do the Will of His Father in heaven and we are then approved for eternal life and we receive our crown of eternal life. We love our neighbor as ourselves when we help him through our good works.
