Salvific sacraments and the coronavirus

Although, this talk is aimed toward what priests should do during an emergency, such as if the coronavirus gets worse, there is much that applies to us and much for everyone to think about, such as do you carry holy water? or are you in a state of mortal sin, have you and your family been baptized?

Are we focusing more on not being able to receive the Eucharist, which we do not have to receive every Sunday, instead of thinking about being in a state of grace, which is where our souls need to be to enter into heaven.

What Should a Priest do in a Pandemic?

Pray would probably be a good start, but then he should be doing that anyway. that said, we aren’t officially in a pandemic and, unless you’re elderly or vulnerable in terms of your health the coronavirus is probably less of a threat to you than the flu. So, should we be thinking about being a state of grace? Of course; but shouldn’t we be doing that anyway?

Yes, that is what Father said in the talk. Pray and pray with others. The talk was, if we were in a pandemic what should a priest do.

I agree we are not there yet. Those 60 years and older should be the most concerned but that is how it is with other viruses also.

At Sundays Mass, after telling us about the new measures put into place regarding holy water and communion, Father stressed "Go to Confession". Very glad to hear him emphasizing this.
