I don’t understand how it seems like God was ok with Sampson “running around” with women.
Any light on this would be much appreciated?

Well, look at how his affair with Delilah turned out. IMHO it’s not so much about God ‘being okay’ with it. I mean we wouldn’t really say that God is ‘being okay’ with burglars or homicidal maniacs who never get caught.

By the same thinking, we could say that God was okay with Paul murdering early Christians. We’re all sinners before we can even become saints.

Samson had a weakness yes; women.:o
But how many of us are faultless? As the Bible says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
We do not know but that he may have fought against this weakness his entire life. Only God knows.

Samson is really the prime example of how even the special and the mighty (in this case, a Nazirite dedicated to God) could succumb to weaknesses. Samson was physically strong, but he was also morally weak.

True!
