San Andreas - has anyone else seen it?

I was really looking forward to this movie.
Disappointed again. The special effects were good, but the storyline was corny. The money went towards the special effects and not the screenwriters that is for sure. At least the popcorn was good.

And for a little Trivia ,the Country scenes were shot a couple hundred miles from here ,
 
If I wanted to watch the world as we know it fall apart, I can watch the evening news with the same results – good special effects, but bad acting :eek:

My husband and I are going to go see it in a couple of weeks. It’s time for some mindless entertainment! (and movie popcorn!)

Look on the bright side: It was likely better than the “Poltergeist” remake (the quickest not-quite-90-minutes I’ll never get back.)
 
I can see the San Andreas faultline from my backyard.

Amazingly enough, I live in an area that has the lowest earthquake insurance premiums in the state of California.

And yes, I know you’re talking about the movie. 🙂 I have no desire to see it.

I didn’t even know they did a remake of Poltergeist. Are you sure it wasn’t a sequel?

We went to the first showing yesterday at 9:45 am and it was packed. So there are probably other people besides me who wish they could get their money back.
 
It kind of reminded me of the John Cusack movie ‘2012’ back when everyone was scared of the world ending because of a certain date! lol

I think the timing of this particular movie was interesting, dont know about anyone else, but I am seeing alot of talk online about Yellowstone getting close to erupting, one site even had video of a lake supposedly in the area, shifting back and forth, and starting to boil, but a quick visit to the USGS site devoted to the super volcano shows no strange activity.

They claim this is most heavily monitored volcano in the world, Im assuming because if it did start to show signs of eruption, that event would be a global killer, it would be over for the US within about 6 months! The USGS does admit it is overdue to erupt, but claim no one can predict an eruption that far out.

This link was highlighted so it worked. Yes, I thought the damage was over the top. I didn’t quite get why the landlines work, but cell phones don’t. I guess cell towers might fall, but land lines are underground cable? That review was pretty spot on.
 
As a geologist, I just can’t watch movies like this. Drives me crazy.
